Job Description

The WRC defines Health and Wellness in terms of a woman’s whole self. Health and wellness includes emotional, physical, and psychological health and a feeling of strength and confidence that supports that. This will look and feel different for every woman, but the outcome of empowerment should be universal.

At the WRC, we will work to foster a campus environment that is safe and supportive for women. We will teach the fundamental concept of health at any size, and all intersections of identity, for every woman.

I.  EMPLOYMENT CONDITION

  1. Coordinator must be an enrolled student throughout the duration of hire
  2. The WRC Director and Associate Director are the supervisors for the position
  3. Position works approximately 10-15 hours per week
  4. Position will work both set and flexible hours
  5. Two weeks notice is expected for resignation, earlier is preferred
  6. Must be available at least one week prior to start of classes for fall and spring semesters
  7. Applicant must be able to work three semesters starting Fall 2011

  10. Experience with or specific interest in women’s health
  11. Involvement with underrepresented/*targeted student groups and/or communities
  12. Research skills

IV.  RESPONSIBILITIES

This student position is responsible for coordination of WRC Health and Wellness. The Health and Wellness Coordinator works in conjunction with permanent staff, student staff and volunteers to actualize the WRC’s purpose and foundations.

  1. Primary Responsibilities
  2. Health and Wellness within the WRC
  3. Maintain and update fact sheets displayed at the WRC
  4. Plan and facilitate self-care activities for the WRC staff and volunteers
  5. Contribute to Health News for the quarterly WRC newsletter
  6. Update and maintain the Health section of the WRC Library
  7. Ensure that the WRC is a space for all women that promotes health and wellness
  8. Engage in dialogue with other WRC staff and volunteers around health and wellness for women.
  9. Collaboration and Networking
  10. Form and maintain collaborative partnerships with on and off campus health and wellness oriented centers
  11. Sit on relevant committees as they arise
  12. Solicit ideas from volunteers, board members, staff and WRC users for health and wellness programming and resources
  13. Collaborate and communicate effectively with other WRC student staff positions to effectively carry out programming, marketing and outreach in order to effectively achieve professional goals.
  14. Health and Wellness Programming
  15. Plan and facilitate 2-3 small program and 1-2 large programs throughout the semester/year – independent of the pre-existing WRC Programming.
  16. Facilitate the group of Health & Wellness volunteers.
  17. Records and Office Tasks
  18. Maintain records of current, previous, and future programs, activities, contacts, etc…
  19. Maintain records/copies of all materials used.
  20. Spend office hours working productively
  21. Working on programming, networking, etc.
  22. Staffing front desk
  23. Basic office care tasks: cleaning, restocking, greeting
  24. Tabling & Flyering
  25. Attending all staff meetings and staff training sessions
  26. Promptly responding to all emails
  1. Responsibilities Shared with the Director and Associate Director
  2. Identification of health and wellness needs for women on the CU campus.
  3. Annually review successes and failures
  4. Suggest additional outlets, programs, and partnerships

V.  EVALUATION

  1. Based upon success in meeting responsibilities defined above
  2. Done once a semester by Director or Associate Director
  3. Outside input is solicited for evaluation
  4. Basis for future recommendation and letters of reference

VI.  DISMISSAL

  1. May occur as a result of failure to meet job responsibilities or inadequate performance
  2. Two weeks notice is given to position if dismissed
