Graduate Assistant Job Position

Terms of Appointment:

Full-time graduate assistant position with a stipend of $9,000 per academic year ($4,500 per semester), a tuition waiver of up to 24 credit hours per academic year, and a parking permit. Graduate assistant will work 20 hours per week from August through May for a one-year term with the possibility of an additional one-year renewal upon successful review.

Position Description:

The graduate assistant serves as is an integral member of the LGBT Resource Center staff. The graduate assistant will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in a variety of areas including program development and delivery, administration, assessment, budgeting, marketing, communications, and student support rooted in an intersectional social justice framework.

Responsibilities (Typical areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to):

·  Support university, division, and department mission, vision, and values

·  Builds and maintains collaborative and supportive relationships with students, faculty, and staff

·  Develop, coordinate, facilitate, and assess Center programs including First-year Queer Alliance and Loud & Queer

·  Co-supervise student facilitators for First-year Queer Alliance and Loud & Queer

·  Coordinate and implement annual celebrations and events, including Pride Awards, Lavender Graduation, and Rainbow Social

·  Attend and coordinate student conference participation at the Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender College Conference (MBLGTACC)

·  Maintain and compile evaluation and assessment data for all Center programs and events

·  Develop and coordinate marketing, social media, and outreach materials

Required Qualifications:

·  Enrolled full-time in the College Student Affairs Leadership (CSAL) Masters Program

·  Possess strong verbal and written communication skills

·  Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail

·  Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Previous experience interacting with LGBTQIA+ communities and knowledge of related issues.

·  Previous experience delivering campus programming
