WOA EVENT STATISTICAL RETURN 2009 - NOTES.

  1. Please complete this form for all events held inWales. This includes informal, schools, training and coaching events. The form should be returned even if the event is cancelled. The data on the form is important (e.g. for grant applications) and you are requested to complete all parts carefully.
  1. Competitor Levy

WOA charges the organising club a levy based on the number of competitors and the event level as set out below –

  • National (Level 1)

These are the most prestigious events in the GB orienteering calendar and includethe BO championships, JK, Compass Sport Cup/Trophy Final and possibly the Welsh championships. Courses are age-class and the results are used for the Ranking scheme. A per capita levy of £1.05 for seniors and 40p for juniors is payable. The levy for accompanying colour coded courses is 50p for seniors and 20p for juniors.

  • Regional (Level 2)

These are high quality events with the results used for the Ranking scheme, but with a lower weighting than for National events, and are likely to offer the full range of colour coded courses at large events. A per capita levy of 80p for seniors and 30p for juniors is payable.

  • Local - Large (Level 3L)

These are events providing competition for local people offering six or more colour coded courses. A per capita levy of 50p for seniors and 20p for juniors is payable.

  • Local - Small (Level 3S)

These are events providing competition for local people offering less than six colour coded courses. A flat rate levy of £6.00per eventis payable.

  • Informal (Level 4)

These are informal,schools, training and coaching events where no fee is charged for taking part. No levy ispayable.
