Meeting called to order at 10:04 pm.

MEETING MINUTES

-Parker motioned to approve the meeting minutes from the previous meeting.

-Mikayla seconded.

UPDATES

10:04 pm – President

-1 on 1s

  • Already met up with most people on the council.
  • If there is someone who have not signed up for the 1-on-1s, email the president ASAP.

-R&FSAB

  • Overview of what it is: meeting where you can provide feedback to resident and food services.
  • The meeting is coming Friday (October 21, 2016) at 2 pm in the Katzman.
  • Would like the building reps to be present at the meeting along with the floor reps.
  • Need DoSA to be there for the meeting.

-GLACURH

  • 10 Participants going to the event.
  • It will cost $183.50
  • November 18, 2016.
  • Justin, Shelby, John and Danis will be going to attend the event.

-Google drive

  • Email was sent to everyone on the council regarding the shared folders.
  • Will be used to drop off reports and other documents.

-Boo @ the U

  • An event res services hosts.
  • Parents and kids from the community come out.
  • Volunteers are needed to setup and run the event.
  • The event will be on October 27, 2016 (Wednesday).
  • Volunteering is not mandatory but any sort of help would be appreciated.
  • Dress appropriately if you do volunteer at the event.
  • Let Justin know if you are interested in volunteering.

Shelby: What is the timing of the event?

Justin: 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm maybe. You don’t have to volunteer for the entire event.

-Office Hours

  • The office hours will be emailed to everyone after the meeting.
  • There will be a copy of the office hours placed in the office for everyone’s convenience as well.
  • Should you have any concerns with the office hours assigned to you, please email or come talk.

-Contact List

  • A bunch of hard copies of the contact lists will be available in the office for everyone to pick up.

-Wants the building reps to spread the word about founder cup points as not a lot of students are aware about what it is.

-HVZ will most likely be held on November 4, 2016.

AJ: will the event run from November 4 till November 11?

Parker: it depends on how many missions we run.

-Met with Lynn regarding student appeals for the write ups.

-Would like the building reps to inform students that if they are unhappy with the final result of the write ups, they can appeal.

-Will respond to students that reached out regarding the floor reps position

-Since everyone used a different means of contacting, it will take some time to sort through it all and reply to all of them

-Meeting with floor reps on Friday before the R&FSAB.

-Also, a lot of students complaining about the heat in the buildings.

Justin: you can bring up the heat issue in R&FSAB.

10:14 pm – Alumni Hall Rep Yields.

Not present.

10:15 pm – Laurier Hall Rep

-Everybody complaining about the heat and had a problem with the fire alarms going off due to the heat on floor 7 in Laurier.

-Still need floor reps for 3 upper year floors.

-Someone came out and contacted the RAs regarding floor reps.

-Will email the floor reps and ask them to come to R&FSAB.

AJ:you can get just one rep for all three floors since they are all upper year floors.

10:16 pm – Laurier Hall Rep Yields.

10:16 – Mac Hall Rep

-Will not be present at the upcoming R&FSAB meeting due to academic reason. However, someone will be present in the meeting on behalf of Mikayla.

-Res goes to theatre at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2016.

  • Free pizza and pop at the end of the show.
  • The set looks good.

-Is thinking of doing an event soon – Assassins

-Thinking of putting up posters to get students to come out for the floor rep positio

OLD BUSINESS

-Nothing.

NEW BUSINESS

-Budget (President)

  • Was sent out via email a couple days ago.
  • A few changed were made with the vice president as follows:
  • Under events:
  • We reallocated money from the Welcome Week Budget to the Conference Budget.
  • Conference
  • Assigned the money to GLACURH registration.
  • This is where the cost for GLACURH got low from.
  • Pretty much the only things changed so far for the budget.

Shelby: when will we get our WIRC clothing?

Justin: it will take 2-3 weeks for clothing. However, for jackets, some paperwork needs to be done and Justin will need to talk to everyone about that.

RECOGNITION / SOMETHING SPECIAL – 10:22 pm.

-We will go around and say what we are thankful for since Thanksgiving recently passed.
