The Center for Holocaust and Humanity Education featuring the Steven F. Cassidy Collection, in partnership with Cincinnati Museum Center and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center presents, "Unlocking the Gates of Auschwitz 70 Years Later."

Join the Center for Holocaust and Humanity Education in partnership with the CincinnatiMuseumCenter and the national Underground Railroad Freedom Center to see our newest temporary exhibit: Unlocking the Gates of Auschwitz 70 Years Later. The exhibit will run January 20, 2015 through May 26, 2015.

Support for the exhibit comes from the Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati and the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile/US Bank Foundation.

  • Jewish Israeli Film Festival

Aftermath tells the story of two brothers in a small Polish town who discover a secret and are forced to revise their perceptions of their father, their family, their neighbors, their whole town and the history of their nation.

Set in Macedonia, a star Eastern Orthodox football player falls in love with the Jewish daughter of a local banker. The two elope in order to avoid Nazi deportation while a famous German-Jewish soccer coach is selected to coach the Macedonian Football Club. When the Nazis arrive in Macedonia loyalties are tested and the team must find the courage to stand up to the new regime.

  • Mission: Impossible: Using Social Innovation to Prevent Genocide with Mark Hanis

Join The Center for Holocaust and Humanity Education and The Eigel Center for Community-Engaged Learning in welcoming social entrepreneur, Mark Hanis. He will share his personal story of co-founding United to End Genocide and ofworking to inspire others to action. Based on his experiences as a grandson ofHolocaust survivors, Mark has dedicated his life to empowering young people to beagents of change. In addition, Mark co-founded the BeeckCenter for Social Impact & Innovation at GeorgetownUniversity in Washington, DC.

  • 100 Years of Genocide: A Panel Discussion

April 2015 marks 100 years of genocide, beginning with the murder of 1.5 million Armenians in 1915. Join CHHE to reflect and remember those lost in Bosnia, Cambodia, Rwanda, Darfur and those who continue to be forced from their homes and persecuted in Syria. This program will also commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

Arrive early and tour “Unlocking the Gates of Auschwitz 70 Years Later,” featuring the Steven F. Cassidy Collection and in partnership with the CincinnatiMuseumCenter and the NationalUndergroundRailroadFreedomCenter.

  • Yom Hashoah Commemoration
