The Mission of XA:

Q: How do you know when your life group is fulfilling its purpose? Here are 6 “wins” - signs that your LG is on it’s way to becoming a healthy, disciple-making community.
(*Note to leader - Make sure that the “how” to do this is always connected back to the idea of living our lives as a part of GOD’S story & plan, not inviting him to be a part of ours.)
- Discipled Members
- When our LG members are being discipled into a lifelong disciple-makers
- Steps:
- LG leader has a 1:1 or 2:1 with as many members as possible.
- LG leader deals individually with crucial growth steps for each person
- LG starts handing over responsibilities to others so ppl develop leadership skills by having responsibility at WNF, life group, planning fun things...
- Eager Members
- When people want to be there and are excited to be at LG of their own volition
- Steps:
- Community building outside the life group
- Having exploratory conversations with people who don’t seem eager
- Build ownership by giving your jobs away
- Creative, engaging content for your LG meetings
- Connected Members
- When our LG members are connected to one another
- Steps:
- Members attend WNF
- Members hang out together outside lifegroup
- Members have coffee or lunch dates with one another
- Christ-Focused Meetings
- When our LG members are connecting to Jesus during LG
- Steps:
- Bible Study
- Prayer
- Worship
- Sharing Lives (Real & Honest/vulnerable relationships)
- Outward Focus/Mission
- Consistent Members
- A consistent group of people come every week - consistent attendance
- Steps:
- LG leaders cast vision for making it a priority
- LG leaders facilitate community-building outside the group so people want to be together
- Be creative - people will come knowing that it won’t just be a “dry” Bible study every single time; something to look forward to.
- Outward-Focused Members
- We are a community of people who “fight for people”
- LG members are more concerned with the spiritual well-being of their fellow LG members and those who don’t know God yet.
- Steps:
- LG leaders cast vision individually about coming to LG to contribute
- LG gives opportunities for members to care for one another (ex: affirmations, coffee dates, etc)
- Training members in listening to God & spiritual gifts
- When members take ownership & lead
- When LG members have significant relationships with nonbelievers
- When LG prays for nonbeliever friends
- When a nonbeliever comes to a LG
