3rd ANNUAL HALFWAY TO WINDY CITY

CONTEST RULES, RELEASE, AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

(In Cooperation With Windy City ETA Competition)

Please observe the following:

The entire contest will take place in one night.The first round tentatively consists of two to three (2 to 3) songs per contestant on Friday night.That number is subject to change depending on the number of entries. After all contestants perform once, they will all perform again. Afterward, both rounds' scores will be combined and the highest scoring contestants, overall, will be selected as winners. Contestant order will be determined randomly.

All contest music will be through backing tracks (karaoke tracks without graphics).
You may bring your own (on CD or USB flash drive) or use standard tracks provided by the contest.
(Please note that all tracks are subject to a precautionary screening.)

NO CUSTOM MEDLEYS, OPENING THEMES (2001, etc.) OR VOCAL ELIMINATIONSARE PERMITTED,
outside of standard Elvis medleyssuch as "Teddy Bear/Don't Be Cruel", "Long Tall Sally/Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On", etc. The '68 Gospel Medley counts as 2 songs. If movie songs are performed, at least one song must match the movie costume the contestant is wearing.
All song selection qualifications are subject to review before acceptance.

Only1 guitar (one), scarves, a stool (if desired), and water will be allowed on stage with the contestants.

No special lighting props, teddy bears, backdrops, bodyguards, additional singers, dancers, or anything else will be allowed.Scarves will not be provided. Contestants may bring their own.

The rights to changes in contestant order, any time limits, song selections, and/or song amounts are reservedby Halfway to Windy City ETA Competition, and will be used if necessary.

Backstage space is limited and access is only granted to contestants and contest staff members.Halfway to Windy City ETA Competition will provide a dressing room area, water, and a stage assistant (if desired).

No alcohol will be permitted on stage or backstage.

Please respect fellow contestants, fans, attendees, staff members, judges, and workers.

Rude, indecent, and/or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
Failure to observe will result in disqualification from the contest and a possible ejection from the premises.

Windy Cityreserves the right to permit or dismiss ETAs in competition at any time.

The judges who have been selected to score contestants are qualified to do so as Elvis fans who have an extensive familiarity and knowledge of the music and performances of Elvis, as well as Elvis Tribute Artist production. Their scores are FINAL.

Windy City and Vikings Lodge will not be held responsible

for damages or injuries resulting from negligent, destructive, and/or inappropriate behavior.

Contestants should indemnify and hold harmless Park Place and Windy City for any and all claims for damages to property or injuries resulting from any negligent, reckless, or intentional acts by contestants.

Contestants assume full responsibility for themselves and their actions at the contest.

All contestants are to accept full liability and responsibility for any damages or injuries,
as well as for any personal belongings while at the contest and venue. Contestants will remain solely responsible for personal property.

Contestants consent to being photographed, audio-recorded, and/or video-recorded at this event.

Windy City and Park Place reserve the right to use the images, names, and likenesses of contestants for the contest and related promotion as deemed appropriate.
