Regular Board Meeting –June 21, 2017 - Windsor Jr/Sr High School Library

  1. Call to Order/Roll callPresident Matt Bennett called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.

The following were present: Michelle Schultz, Matt Greuel, Matthew Bennett, Nick Hendrickson, Stacy Cole, Karen Pfeiffer, and Albert Shafer. Administrators Erik Van Hoveln and Brian Lee were also present.

Pastor Mohr gave information about a possible high school boys baseball game at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Mr. Van Hoveln will update the board further as information come available.

Mr. Van Hoveln reported:

  1. Thank you to CHI Overhead Doors for donating two copy/fax machines to the district. The elementary and bus barn will use the machines. We greatly appreciate this donation.
  2. Coach Pogue is working with the St. Louis Cardinals to play a game at Busch Stadium this fall. We need to sell $8,000 worth of tickets. We are given 800 tickets and we can set the price but must meet the $8,000 cost. Stew-Stras is in favor of making this commitment.
  3. We are in need of additional folding chairs. I would like to sell the old wooden chairs for $5 each and put that money toward new chairs. I would post this on social media and sell during summer office hours.
  4. Our total interscholastic expenses for FY 17 were $79,654.55. This includes all scholastic and athletic programs for the elementary, junior high and high school. Transportation is included in this number as well.
  5. Congratulations to the Windsor Special Olympics Team State

News:

Summer work is progressing very well! All classroom floors are waxed.

Classroom changes: Moved both Project Help and ECSE into the new wing and moved art into the K-2 wing (in Project Help room)

We would like to sell the old grade school doors for $25.00. Information will be posted on school’s facebook page.

Interviewed 2 candidates on Wednesday, June 14 and 4 on Friday, June 16 for teaching opening.

No bids were received for milk, fuel, and internet. Greuel made a motion to accept food bids as recommended by Julie Finley, seconded by Schultz. Member’s votes were: Hendrickson – yes, Cole – yes, Pfeiffer – yes, Shafer – yes, Schultz – yes, Greuel – yes, and Bennett – yes. MOTION CARRIED 7 – yes, 0 – no.

  1. 2017-2018 Fee Schedule

Greuel made a motion to accept the 2017-2018 fee schedule as presented with the changes of a $90 max sport fee per child and $120 max sport fee per family, seconded by Bennett. Member’s votes were: Cole – yes, Pfeiffer – yes, Shafer – yes, Schultz – yes, Greuel – yes, Bennett – yes, and Hendrickson – yes. MOTION CARRIED 7 – yes, 0 – no.

Colemade a motion to accept insurance renewals, seconded by Bennett. Member’s votes were: Pfeiffer – yes, Shafer – yes, Schultz – yes, Greuel – yes, Bennett – yes, Hendrickson – yes, and Cole – yes. MOTION CARRIED 7 – yes, 0 – no.

Hendricksonmade a motion to go into executive session at 7:24pm, seconded by Shafer. Member’s votes were: Shafer – yes, Schultz – yes, Greuel – yes, Bennett – yes, Hendrickson – yes, Cole – yes, andPfeiffer – yes. MOTION CARRIED 7 – yes, 0 – no.
