Criterion 1: Engagement with parents and community (30%)

Criterion 3: Engagement with the Principal (20%)

How does the P&C collaborate with the principal to provide advice on P&C and school issues, or meeting goals for the school? What does your principal do to assist the P&C in meeting its obligations?

Guide to Completing P&C of The Year Nomination Form

  1. Completing the form
  1. ALL questions and parts of the form must be answered to ensure the nomination is valid and meets the ‘Terms and Condition’ available at pandcsqld.com.au
  2. Responses to questions should be no longer than 500 words.
  3. The form must be signed by both the Principal and P&C President to be valid.
  1. Visual Presentation – (Criterion 5)
  1. Each nomination must include a visual presentation.
  2. Presentations should be approx. 2 minutes in length focusing on your P&Cs contribution to your school community. The file size should not exceed 500MB.
  3. Your presentation does not have to be a professional production. Entrants are encouraged to be creative and brief. The presentation could be in photos or video, in the form of a song, a poem, or a “vox pop” of parents. Videos can be filmed on mobile devices.

Acceptable formats include:

  • Wondershare for Mac or Windows
  • WMV, MOV, MP4
  • PowerPoint.

  2. Presentation files exceeding the time by more than 2 minutes may be disqualified.

Permission to Use Images - Visual Presentation – (Criterion 5)

  1. The content of the Presentation must follow the ‘DET Social Media Policy’ (for viewing at InfoPlace) and notidentify students or staff at your school unless express permission has been obtained.
  2. If your presentation features identifiable adults or children, the P&Cs ‘Consent to Use Image’permission form available on the must be used to obtain consent. Copies of these will be requested should your nomination become a finalist.
  3. Music and Sound - For music used, permissions from the owners must be gained/credits used/fees paid and sources acknowledged.
  4. Finalists’ presentations will be displayed online and on social media and may need additional permissions.

  1. All selection criteria must be completed to be considered for the award.
  2. Nominations will be judged by an Awards Committee comprised of P&Cs Qld State Office staff, Area Co-ordinators and Board Directors.
