The Embassy does not provide express or priority services and does not process URGENT applications.

Incomplete applications will be returned at the expense of the applicant. The Embassy may at any time request further information or additional documents deemed necessary. General conditions are subject to change without prior notice.

Non-Indonesian passport holders must consult the Embassy about further specific requirements.

TRAINING/APRENTICESHIP, STUDENT’S EXCHANGE PROGRAM (VITEM I)

ELEGIBILITY:

-Indonesian students undergoing training, under student’s exchange program, organization for international cooperation or international cooperation sectors of a Brazilian Ministry, for a period not exceeding one year and provided that no income other than scholarship is derived from a Brazilian source require this type of visa. (RN88/10, RN26/98 e RN49/00).

-Foreigners undergoing training in the operation and maintenance of machines and equipments produced in Brazilian territory, without work contract, for a period no longer than 60 days (RN 37/99, art. 6).

REQUIREMENTS:

- Original passport valid for at least 6 months, with minimum of 3 (two) blank pages (the Embassy does not endorse soiled, damaged or defaced passports).

- Application form should be filled online on the site : , The Visa Request will provide instructions on the filling of the Form and open the actual Form to be filled. At the end of the procedure, the filled form should be “Sent” and printed with the corresponding processing number.

- Recent (max 2 years) professional passport size photographs.

- Complete itinerary with passenger’s name, on the letterhead of the travel agency or original return tickets.

- Proof of financial means for the duration of the stay in Brazil. Please be advised that it is illegal for the holder of this category of visa to receive a salary from a Brazilian source. However, travel accommodation and out of pocket expenses allowances are permitted.

- Proof of residence within the Embassy’s jurisdiction.

- Copy of ID card.

- Police clearance (full fingerprint or, if applicant is younger than 18 years, name check) issued within 90 days prior to lodging the application. Not required in the case of persons under the age of 16 years or for a 90 days visa.

- Applicants under 18 travelling alone need a letter of consent signed by father and mother or guardian, certified by a Public Notary, along a copy of any photo ID. If travelling with one parent only, letter of consent of the non-accompanying parent (also certified by a Public Notary) along a copy of any photo ID. The birth certificate is also required.

- Written confirmation of the applicant’s acceptance by the Brazilian institution or company where the training will take place or international cooperation department of Brazilian Ministries, stating the nature of the trip, length of stay and activities to be performed.

- Letter of introduction from a recognized student exchange institution or from an international cooperation organization or department of Brazilian Ministries.

VISA FEES:

• Payments are only accepted in the form of bank deposit. One deposit for multiple applications is acceptable.

• US$ 60.00– If applications are lodged at the reception, in person, by the applicant or by his/her spouse, de facto, parent, son, daughter or sibling. Proof of relation will be requested.

Additional US$ 20.00 – If applications are lodged by agent/courier or third party.

PROCESSING TIME

1• 10 (ten) working days after the arrival of the complete documentation.

2• 15 (fifteen) working days for groups of 12 or more applications lodged together.

GENERAL INFORMATION

If the visitor has been to various Latin American and African countries prior to arrival in Brazil, a valid international yellow fever vaccination certificate may be required by Brazilian airport authorities on arrival (see the list at the counter).

Visas are valid for arrival in Brazil within 90 days from the date of issuance.

ATTENTION !!!: VITEM-I holders who are to stay in Brazil for more than 90 days must register in person at the Department of Federal Police in Brazil within the first 30 days after their arrival.

Please note that a visa is not an applicant’s right and may be denied. It does not guarantee the right of entry or stay in Brazil and can be cancelled at the discretion of the Brazilian immigration authorities.
