Dear Coach:

Hope you’re ready to roll into XC season!. We welcome you and your team(s) Saturday September 28 to our Williams Cross Country “Purple Valley Classic”. As always we plan to provide good competition, a well-run meet, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. This year will be the fifteenth on our great course at Mt. Greylock Regional High School (4 miles south of Williamstown on Rt. 7). The varsity races will cover the 6k and 8k courses. There is an additional 5k race. It is a scenic true x-country course, with many passes through the center for spectator viewing, and we know you and your runners will enjoy it! Attached you will find a meet information sheet. For motel or restaurant information please contact us.

The course has a mixture of grass, dirt, and chips, including trails and playing fields. There is no pavement. Spikes are permitted if desired. This year we will again run one men’s varsity race and one women’s varsity race (unlimited entries). In addition there will be a coed 5k (freshmen and non-top-7 runners eligible).

There is a large parking lot in front of the school. Facilities and locker rooms will be available in the gym. There are also locker rooms with showers available at Chandler Gym on Williams campus. Please respect school property. We do invite you to pack a lunch, as on a nice day it is a beautiful setting. Just be sure to pick up all your trash afterwards, and recycle bottles/cans!

Entries: submit your rosters to TFRRS as mentioned on our meet info sheet. More to come on that about Sept. 13. Your packet with numbers and course maps will be available when you arrive at the meet.

Awards Presentation: will follow right after the final race. Results will be posted on board at meet, copies available, and for view online at and at

Please be sure that both your Men's and Women's Coaches receive this information. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us.
