LOCATION: Golden Corral (did not get regular room, and the new area was very noisy). A majority suggested that another meeting location be arranged.

Call Meeting to order – The meeting was called to order by Jerry Welch.

Secretary – Howard Potts (assisting Sara Wilson who could not attend)

Treasurer – Dan Walker reported a balance of $7,846.61 in the class account; he reported that $13,869 was spent on the 50th Reunion, and that total receipts were $20,332 for a total cost of $6,463. Dan stated that he had transferred all financial data to Quicken and that the signature cards with the bank had been completed.

Chairman’s Report – Ideas from the new chairman Jerry Welch:

  • Quarterly Committee meetings will still be scheduled
  • Monthly breakfast/lunch get-togethers will be announced
  • Clark will put the minutes on the website along with the list of classmates with no contact info.
  • Mini-reunion – perhaps four-state area, to be scheduled in April, 2013.

Yearbook – Howard Potts related that he had seven requests for reunion yearbooks, and that Joi Inbody Seaton stated she had paid for one but had not received it. Dan Walker said he would find out where the leftovers were being stored.

Emails – Clark McNair reported that he sent out an email blast with 418 classmate addresses, with only 4 returned as non-deliverable. Additional work is needed to re-trace those, and that he has a long list of classmate names where additional tracing will be required. It was suggested that this list be posted on the website so others can help with the task of tracking down these classmates.

Videos – Jerry Welch again invited everyone to come to his apartment complex, where he had a screening room available to show the DVDs of the 50th reunion. He stated it would seat between 25 to 30 people. He suggested that everyone bring finger foods and drinks. This will be discussed at the next monthly social.

Decorations – Pat Hutchens, from the class of 1957, reported that his class would like to “re-purchase” the decorations from the class of 1961. He reported that it was the ’57 class that purchased them originally and then sold them to the class of 1958 for their 50th reunion. They were also in negotiations with the Creek Event Center to host their 55th reunion in 2013. One idea he presented was that their class donated $40 to the charity of choice in remembrance of deceased classmates. In order to replenish these funds, they asked for donations, and that the fund received sufficient supply to continue this tradition.
