Requirements / Points
1. / Complete application form. Neatness and appearance will be considered. / 10
2. / Send an official transcript of high school grades. / required
3. / Be a senior student in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. / required
4. / Maintain a minimum of C+ average (2.5) during senior year of high school. / 10
5. / Attend college, junior college or university in Alaska or any other state, excluding trade schools. / ------
6. / Attach a brief, one-page, single spaced essay on the following items:
*field of study (student’s responsibility to identify agriculture-related field)
reasons for attending this college
plans for applying field of study after graduation. / 10

7. / Complete information on application form regarding:
employment experience
community involvement
extra-curricular activities (FFA, 4-H, FHA, Scouts, athletics, music, social clubs,
organizations.) / 10

8. / Include three letters of recommendation. / 10
9. / Finalists will be asked to present an oral application (3-5 minutes summary of essay) before the ARRC Board of Directors and a representative of the First National Bank Alaska at the board meeting to be held in April 2008. Appropriate dress required for interview. / 80
10. / Finalists will be asked to hand-write a paragraph on the day of the interview. / 20
11. / Winners must notify ARRC upon registration, at which time half of the amount will be sent to the college or university and the other half at the beginning of the second semester, providing the student is still in good standing. / ------
Scholarship winners will be chosen by the ARRC Board of Directors and a representative of the First National Bank Alaska. Winners will be notified at their high school graduation or awards program.
