SPORTS DAY - SATURDAY 10thJUNE 2017

A warm welcome is accorded to all competitors, parents, former pupils and friends, on this our annual Sports Day. We hope for a sunny morning, with lots of exciting but friendly competition. Sports Day represents a chance for all our youngsters to spend a pleasant morning at Goldenacre participating in a House competition which is designed primarily to foster community spirit and to encourage pupils, staff and supporters to have fun together. Apart from Primary 1 and 2 there are also separate ‘serious’ alternative events which enable the competitive athletes to perform at their highest level and have their efforts acknowledged in a variety of ways.

Please help us to ensure the safety and enjoyment of Sports Day for all present by observing the following requests:

ONLY COMPETITORS AND OFFICIALS ARE ALLOWED INSIDE ANY ROPED AREA.Parents are asked to ensure that their children do not run across the main track to participate officially in events without checking to see if an event is in progress on the track.

Competitors and parents in charge of the younger competitors should listen for each event being called. They should then proceed to the meeting place detailed on the Programme of Events.

No dogs are allowed inside the grounds of Goldenacre

In the event of bad weather, please do not hesitate to exercise your own judgement about your own child’s well being. Please ensure that you notify the appropriate Staff member if you remove your child prior to the end of the scheduled events.

If we are fortunate enough to have a sunny day please take appropriate action to ensure the protection of your child’s skin.

All pupils who come 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their event and therefore win a medal should collect their medal from the tent in the centre of the track.

Results and times will be announced and pupils will be invited to collect their medal shortly after the completion of the event.

There will be no Prize Giving at the end of Sports Day. All medals will be presented throughout the event and all Championship winners will collect their trophies at Junior School or Senior School Prize Giving at the end of Term.

The School wishes to thank Governors, former pupils and friends who have contributed to the prizes for today's event.

Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make this year’s Sports Day possible.
