SKY MASTERSON: Lead Role, Age Range: 30-40, Vocal Range: Baritone B to Eb. Strong actor and singer who can move well. Charismatic, cool and charming, he is an intelligent and confident gangster. Handsome with stage presence and sex appeal.
SARA BROWN: Lead Role Age Range: 25-35 – Vocal Range: Soprano to high A. Strong actress and singer who can move. She is a little too conventional, respectable and principled. She has genuine passion for the Save a Soul Mission, but doesn’t allow her head to follow her heart
NATHAN DETROIT: Lead Role, Age Range: 35-50, Vocal Range: Baritone to high F. Strong singer and actor with excellent comic timing move well. Organizer of the famous New York City floating crap game. He is a loveable rogue and has been engaged to Adelaide for 15 years.
MISS ADELAIDE : Lead Role Age Range: 30-45 – Vocal Range: Mezzo to an A. Strong actress with excellent comic timing ability, must be a strong singer and able to move well. Star of the Hot Box Night Club, she’s been engaged to a gambler Nathan Detroit for 15 years.
NICELY NICELY JOHNSON: Supporting Role, Age Range: 35 to 45, Vocal Range: Tenor to high B flat. Strong singer and actor with excellent comic timing, move well. Best friend to Nathan Detroit, cheerful and likeable.
BENNY SOUTHSTREET: Supporting Role, Age Range: 30-45, Vocal Range: Baritone. Strong singer and actor with comic timing, move well. Nicely’s good friend, upbeat not an experienced gangster.
4 HOT BOX GIRLS: (MIMI, STELLA, TRIXIE and ZELDA) Supporting Roles Age Range: 20-35 Vocal Range: various. Strong actresses, singers who can dance well. They work at the Hot Box Night Club and friends of Adelaide, Will double as characters of 1940’s New York City.
RUSTY CHARLIE: Supporting Role, Age Range: 20-45, Vocal Range: Baritone. Strong singer and actor with comic timing, move well. Benny Southstreet’s friend.
HARRY THE HORSE: Supporting Role, Age Range: 45-60, Vocal Range: Any. An actor who can handle straight comic timing. Mouthpiece and side kick to Big Julie. He is a pleasant rogue and a cool customer. Sings with gangsters.
BIG JULIE: Supporting Role, Age Range: 35-55, Vocal Range: Any. Able to sing, actor who can handle comedy in straight talking bluntness. Powerful, intimidating, high status gangster from out of town. His reputation precedes him. Sings with gangsters.
ARVIDE ABERNATHY: Supporting Role, Age Range: 50-65, Vocal Range: Baritone. Sarah’s Grandfather member of the Save A Soul Mission. He is wise, warm and caring. (Sings a solo: More I Cannot Wish You)
GENERAL MATILDA CARTWRIGHT: Supporting Role Age Range: 45-65 – Vocal Range: Mezzo –Strong singer and actress able to move. Matronly and no-nonsense which transpires into a sense of humor. Will also double as characters of 1940’s New York City.
LT. BRANNIGAN: Supporting Role, Age Range: 40-60 Vocal Range: Any. Strong character actor. Member of the New York Police Dept. Tries to command respect from Nathan and his gangsters.
AGATHA: Supporting Role Age Range: 40-50 Vocal Range: Various. Strong actress and singer who can move well. Works at the Save A Soul Mission and part of the Mission Band. Will also double as characters of 1940’s New York City.
MARTHA: Supporting Role Age Range: 16-20 Vocal Range: Any. Strong actress and singer who can move well. Trainee at the Save A Soul Mission and part of the Mission Band. Will also double as characters of 1940’s New York City.
6 MALE GAMBLERS: (ANGIE THE OX, LIVER LIPS LOUIE, STREETWISE SAM, MADISON MAX, DELANCY DAN)

Rehearsals to begin Monday July 17th at 7:30pm-10:30pm (location to be determined.)
> HELL (tech) WEEK begins Sunday, September 3, 2017 and ends Opening Night, Friday, September 8, 2017.
Performances will be Friday & Saturday September 8, 2017 through September 23, 2017 at 8:00 pm with one Matinee on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm. Call times are 6:30 PM and 1:00 pm respectively. All performances are held at The Center Theatre in Whittier.
