Whitney Elementary School Scholarship

The mission of this scholarship is to help Whitney Elementary School students that are graduating from Whitney ISD with higher education expenses for the 2016-2017 school year.

Scholarship Amount: up to $1,000.

Applicants will be notified at the Awards Ceremony at the end of the 2016-2017 school year.

Your completed application is due by April 3, 2017, 4 pm.

*Please submit your application no later than April 3rd to the Whitney Elementary School Office.

No late applications will be accepted.

The criteria below will help you determine if you are eligible for this scholarship:

  • Attended Whitney Elementary School from grades K-2
  • Graduating senior from Whitney ISD and plans to enroll full‐time at an accredited junior college, vocational college, or four‐year university
  • Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale
  • Have a history of active involvement in athletics, other extracurricular activities or work experience
  • Documentation showing a commitment to their community through a minimum 50 hours of meaningful and documented community service
  • Provide an essay that states your future educational goals

Jeans for Teens

Our goal is to provide two graduating seniors from Whitney ISD with a scholarship from Whitney Elementary School. The students must have attended grades K-2 at Whitney Elementary School and must graduate from Whitney High School.

By paying $50/semester, you may wear jeans on Wednesdays along with a college shirt to promote higher education.

This fee will fund the scholarship.

*Payment may be received at any time; however, it must be paid in full before you wear your Wednesday jeans.
