Intake/Employment Coordinator is responsible for assisting participants in their job search; including coordinating job seeking furloughs, interviews and transfers. Responsibilities also include processing all intakes of offenders assigned to the Residential Work Release Facility.

DUTIES:

Ability to influence and support behavioral change through Evidence Based Practices

Responsible for processing all intakes of offenders assigned to the Residential Work Release Facility.

Follows intake procedures as new offenders enter the program; including reviewing program rules/expectations, completing all intake documents, pat searching the offender, searching incoming personal property, obtaining urine and breath sample.

Provide guided, structured job search in the community. Verifying accountability via caller-id phone calls, verification forms, random calls.

Reviews, verifies and processes all Employer Agreements.

Serve as a positive representative of community corrections with participants, employers and the community.

Facilitates individual and group services to assist participants in completing applications, resume writing, job search, and interview techniques. Instructs participants on work-related attitudes and behaviors to improve their ability to obtain employment.

Ensures that job assistance is provided to all approved participants.

Identifies jobs in the community that match participants skills can perform. Contacts prospective employers to determine their needs and to solicit job vacancies for participants.

Establishes and maintains working relationships with local employers to promote the hiring of participants. Assists employers with filing for Tax Credits and serve as a liaison for employers.

Develops formal and informal partnerships and links with community, business,

Government agencies, churches, and other groups serving the participant population. Maintains detailed, accurate records regarding job search assistance efforts and employment secured.

Provides information on community resources that may assist in addressing barriers to job retention.

Verify that Employer Agreements have been received and ensure employment meets program criteria.

Monitors participant’s employment, and reports any changes to staff.

Knowledgeable about the Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC) and Fidelity Bonds. Provide information to educate participants on ways to market themselves in their job search.

Coordinate job seeking furloughs for incarcerated participants. Including, planning with the jail, arranging interviews, communicating with family to coordinate the retrieval of identification and clothing.

Provide job seeking furloughs in compliance with the policy; ensuring all those that are eligible receive service.

Maintain communication with jail and work release administrator to effectively provide services and coordinate transfers.

Ensures compliance with program policies/procedures, records and reports inappropriate behavior to appropriate personnel.

Documents non-compliance with program. Issues violations to participants; in accordance to the discipline policy.

Complete and submit reports as directed by supervisor and/or policy.

Respond to inquiries and communicate with participant family members, and related agencies/departments regarding work release participants.

Attend monthly staff meetings to address areas of concern, share new information and build consistency.

Maintain training and ability to perform Shift Supervisor duties as needed.

Maintains participant Release of Information and Consent Forms

Approve overtime request received from employers, and report information to staff.

Track overtime request to ensure participant and employer are in compliance with department policy.
