SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
recognize Dale F. Hoagland for his 33 years of loyal union service;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hoagland has been a member of United Food and
Commercial Workers International Union, AFLCIO, CLC, since 1960;
and
WHEREAS, A gifted leader, he has served as president of the
Meatcutters, Allied Food and Insurance Workers District Local Union
408 for the past 26 years; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Houston, he formerly
worked for Weingartens and Kroger; and
WHEREAS, His extensive professional activities include
serving as a trustee for United Food and Commercial Workers Region
8 Employers Health and Welfare Fund and United Food and Commercial
Workers Region 8 Health and Welfare Trust Fund II; and
WHEREAS, He is a member of Harris County Labor Council
Executive Board and is an alternate trustee for the United Food
and Commercial Workers International Union Pension Fund; and
WHEREAS, Throughout Dale Hoagland's long association with
the United Food and Commercial Workers, he has been noted for his
tenacity and perseverance in helping to effect the union's goals;
and
WHEREAS, A generous, hardworking individual, Dale Hoagland
is a source of strength to many, and his worthy accomplishments
as a leader in the union reflect his dedication to his work and
his commitment to his fellowman; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
73rd Legislature, hereby commend Dale F. Hoagland for his
exceptional work on behalf of the United Food and Commercial
Workers and extend best wishes to him for continued success; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
