WHERE: Tippecanoe River State Park, Winamac, IN
DIRECTIONS: On US 35 between Knox and Winamac in north central Indiana.
WHEN: All times are local time (Eastern Daylight time)
Saturday, October 3rd, 2015: Registration, instructions and pre-ride clinic at 10:30 am.
First riders out at 11am
Sunday, October 4th, 2015: Registration, instructions and pre-ride clinic at 9:30am.
First riders out at 10 am No Riders Registered After 12, Noon Sunday.
There will be a 5 plate and a 10 plate ride each day.
There will be a carry-in / potluck dinner / group campfire Saturday night at 6:30 pm
FEES: $10 per rider per day. Non-members of NACMO will pay an additional $5 for a one-day membership to cover insurance each day.
FACILITIES: Water, pit toilets, hitching rails, fire pits and picnic tables are located throughout the horseman’s campground. There is also a separate day use parking area with hitching rails and picnic tables. Ride managers will be in site #2.
CMO is a timed event covering from 5 to 15 miles in which you find 5-10 markers using a map (provided) and a compass. Riders can compete either individually or in teams. You will need an orienteering type compass (example – Silva 7), available wherever camping supplies are sold. Riders compete either individually or in teams of 2 to 6 riders. Ride at any pace you like. We will provide instructions and a practice marker before each ride.
