Wheelchair Hire and Purchase Information
Wheelchairs are available for hire from about £25 per week. They are available to purchase from about £100. We suggest you read guidance produced by the Disabled Living Foundation (DLF) before choosing a chair. The DLF website has links to factsheets about choosing wheelchairs and also a list of hire facilities in the London area. We also recommend that you check whether the supplier belongs to the British Healthcare Trades Association wheelchair distributors section (BHTA) which produces a code of good practice to which its members are expected to conform. Wheelchairs can be hired or bought through manufacturers and local suppliers some of which are listed below. Inclusion in this list does not imply any recommendation from the wheelchair service and the service cannot take responsibility for equipment you purchase yourself.
