What is Football University?

Football University is a one-of-a kind football training experience, focusing on developing and enhancing the playing ability and skill of high-level football athletes in the 6th to 12th grade. The training is provided by the NFL’s top coaches.

FBU was started by the producers of the U.S. Army All American Bowl, televised on NBC, which annually showcases top preps such as Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush and Tim Tebow. FBU also produces the National Youth All American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas that features top 7th and 8th graders from around North America.

FBU founders realized that existing camps were not adequately serving the high-level 6th, 7th and 8th graders; that these athletes were looking for year-round, specialized football training and that the best way to help youth athletes improve their chance to pursue football later on into their lives at the University, and quite possibly, the professional levels. Until FBU, there was no outlet for talented young athletes in 6th, 7th and 8th grades to receive high-level training in a high-level environment. So the FBU founders enlisted the NFL’s best instructors to every position who could “teach” a high-level curriculum to young athletes and built a three-day instructional experience that features 18 hours of one-of-a-kind instruction that would prepare young athletes for their high school and university football careers.

Now, Football University is coming to Acadia University August 12-14, 2011! We at NSMFA have negotiated a fantastic group pricing deal for our member associations, based on the number of kids aged 11 - 18 each association can send. These prices are approved by FBU and the more kids we you send to this program, the more cost-effective it becomes. Here are the details:

  • 10-19 athletes = $499/each
  • 20-29 athletes = $449/each
  • 30-39 athletes =$399/each
  • 40 plus athletes = $349/each

If you can send a larger group of kids to this camp, the more accessible it becomes for other kids to attend. We at the NSMFA suggest that each member association query their local families to see who might be interested in sending their child to Acadia for a weekend in August to learn high-level football concepts from the best the game has to offer.

This is a really great football opportunity for our kids here in Nova Scotia and surrounding areas to experience a high-level football training camp and NSMFA encourages every player who is able to be there to go. It will be a real learning experience for them and we believe it can help grow the sport of football in Nova Scotia. It could potentially open doors of opportunity that you or your child never even dreamed of!
