What is a WyldLife Leader?

A WyldLife leader is someone who wants to take the next step in both their relationship with Christ and in ministry. They must have a great heart, a willing spirit and a passion for Jesus. A WyldLife leader will build relationships with JH. students with the hope of sharing the gospel, as well as be trained and equipped in service and leadership.

What is my Job?

WyldLife Life leaders put a lot of time and effort into their ministry. WyldLife leaders will be asked to make a commitment for the next year to his or her JHschool. If you must miss an event or club,you will just need to notify your senior leader as soon as possible, but at least 24 hoursprior to the event,as to the reason you will miss.

In addition to above, you will be asked to:

  • Live in Christ each day – make God the boss of your life
  • Attend a local Church
  • Be actively involved in contact work at JH kids as discussed with your team leader.
  • Meet with your Young Life leader regularly
  • Be a leader on Friday nights (lead activities, games, or skits)
  • Make sure each student is greeted at club
  • Follow up with new students after club to say, “Glad you were there,” or ask if they have any questions.
  • Attend area leadership meetings and team meetings
  • Help lead or serve at summer camp (if possible).

Time Commitment: All of the following hours will be counted as community service hours; averages 15-20 hours per month.

  • A WyldLife Leader, will set up, attend, clean up and participate in every club. This typically is 6:30pm-8:30pm every other Tuesday night but is subject to change so please .
  • Attendance of area and team meetings is mandatory.
  • Onetraining a month (as determined by the group & trainer).

Lifestyle: When we are leaders, people watch how we live at all times. We want to set a good example:

  • No illegal activity including: smoking, drugs, chewing tobacco or drinking.
  • As leaders, we will live by Scripture in the area of sexual conduct and purity (for example, we will not have sex outside of marriage).
  • Avoid situations that will cause questions to be asked about your integrity or lifestyle.

By signing below, you agree to the objectives listed as your job. If for any reason you fail to complete all of them, you will be asked to meet with your Young Life leader to reevaluate your status. If you choose to accept this invitation it will be hard. You will need to trust God and by God’s grace and love you will live this out.
