Instructions

  2. Read the each of the scenarios.
  3. Consider the impact that each influence could have on the characters decisions and formulate a course of action.
  4. Save your responses in an appropriate place.

Scenario 1

Tom is in Year 10 at his local high school. Tom’s parent’s are away and all his friends are pestering him to have a party. This is the first time Tom’s parents have gone away and they have left strict instructions about not having people over. Tom told his friends that he isn’t allowed to have a party. His friends keep giving him a hard time and try to convince him to have one.

  3. What factors will influence Tom’s decision and why?
  4. Identify all the possible consequences?
  5. If you were Tom, what would be your decision and why?

Scenario 2

Julia has gone to a party with her partner Ed. Ed is 18 and on his P’s. He has decided to drive and not have anything to drink. Julia has spent the night having fun with her friends and Ed has been catching up with his mates. As they are leaving Ed tells Julia that he’s had quite a few drinks and shouldn’t drive. He tells Julia to drive, but she only has her L’s.

Scenario 3

Stephanie is in Year 9 and Jason is in Year 12 at the local high school. Stephanie has had a crush on Jason for as long as she can remember and is so excited that he has asked her to his party. Stephanie is having a great time at the party. One of Jason’s friends offers Jason and Stephanie a “joint”. Jason takes the “joint”. Stephanie has never has a “joint” before and doesn’t believe in taking drugs. Jason then passes it to Stephanie.
