What Does A Wedding Cost?

Directions: You will be planning your wedding. You will be doing only the costs you/your family would be responsible for. For each item you need the cost, a picture, and a description. You will turn everything in a binder. All elements need to be in order as listed.

GIRLS EXPENSES

  1. Plan for the wedding
  2. Plan the time, place and type of wedding ceremony. Find the cost of a place for the wedding (reception center, hotel, club, etc.)
  3. Invitations:
  4. Show a sample invitation. Find out the cost and the cost of postage for 300 invitations (You may want to include thank you notes.)
  5. Wedding dress:
  6. Select a wedding dress and include a picture or sketch. If it is to be purchased state the price and place of purchase, as well as the cost of alterations. If it is to be made, state the amount of fabric, notions, pattern, etc. and the cost of everything included. Also include the price of shoes, hose, slip, etc.
  7. Veil:
  8. State the price and place of purchase. Include a picture or sketch.
  9. Bridesmaid’s dresses:
  10. Include a picture or sketch. Include the cost and place of purchase. If it is to be made, state the amount of fabric, notions, pattern, etc. and the cost of everything included. Include junior bridesmaids and flower girls if they will be in your line. Also include the number of bridesmaids and times the cost by how many dresses you will need.
  11. Mother’s dresses:
  12. Include a picture or sketch. Include the cost and place of purchase. If it is to be made, state the amount of fabric, notions, pattern, etc. and the cost of everything included.
  13. Decorations:
  14. List the cost of decorations for the reception. Included the backdrop, drapes, center pieces, tables, chairs, ice sculpture, fountains, etc. you may call a reception center to find out the cost of decorations, or if they are included with their rental price.
  15. Flowers for decorations:
  16. Talk to a florist. Find the cost of flowers to decorate the reception center. (Only get the cost of decorations)
  17. Ring for Groom:
  18. Choose a ring for your groom. Include a picture or sketch, place purchased and cost.
  19. Gifts for maid of honor and bridesmaids:
  20. State the number of gifts to be given, place of purchase and the individual cost. If possible include a picture or sketch.
  21. Wedding Pictures:
  22. Find the cost of wedding pictures. Include the total number or package you will buy. State the company or photographer. State the cost of additional photographs.
  23. Wedding Cake:
  24. Find the cost of your wedding cake. Have a picture or sketch. Include the cost of the cake and delivery. Include who will be making the cake or place of purchase.
  25. Refreshments:
  26. Describe the refreshments you want to serve. Use pictures if possible. State the cost of the refreshments for 300 guests. State who will be doing the refreshments (reception center or caterer).
  27. Wedding gift for Groom:
  28. Choose a wedding gift for your groom. Find a picture or sketch and state the cost.
  29. Wedding Video
  30. Find the cost of a wedding video. Tell what is included in the package.
  31. Music for reception:
  32. Find the cost of music for the reception (string quartet, piano player, DJ, etc.) State who will be performing and the cost for 2 hours.
  33. Gift for the guests:
  34. Choose a trinket or gift for the guests. Find the cost for 200. (Candy bag, candles, bubbles, bird seed, etc.)

GUYS EXPENSES:

  1. Ring for bride:
  2. Choose a ring for your bride. Include a picture or sketch, place of purchase and cost.
  3. Wedding Breakfast/Lunch:
  4. Decide on either a breakfast or lunch. Find a place to hold for 20 people. State the place and cost.
  5. Tuxedo:
  6. Find the cost of tuxedo rentals for yourself, groomsman, and fathers. State the number of tuxedos needed, the place of purchase and cost. Include a picture or sketch.
  7. Wedding gift for bride:
  8. Choose a wedding gift for your bride. Include a picture or sketch. Include the cost and place of purchase.
  9. Flowers:
  10. Find the cost of an average bride’s bouquet and corsages for at least 6 people. (Groom, Mothers, Bridesmaids, Groomsman, etc)
  11. Lodging for Night of Wedding:
  12. Choose a place to stay the night of your wedding. Include the name of the place and the cost per night.
  13. Honeymoon Transportation:
  14. Choose a place for the honeymoon and state the cost of transportation. (Flying, driving, etc)
  15. Honeymoon Lodging for 5 days:
  16. Choose a place for the honeymoon and state the cost and type of lodging for at least 5 days.
  17. Honeymoon Food:
  18. Choose a place for the honeymoon and state the cost for at least 4 dinners, and 5 lunches. (Breakfast will be provided)
  19. Honeymoon Attractions:
  20. Choose a place for the honeymoon and state the cost of attractions (theme parks, activities, fees, etc)
