What do you know about Engineering and Apprenticeships?
TTE, in conjunction with INOVYN, would like to provide an opportunity for young people in secondary schools in Halton to gainan insight around the opportunities to work in engineering in a major company and how becoming an engineering apprentice is a valuable route to get there.
This event is aimed at year 8 pupils and will cover the following main topics in three sessions on the day:
- What does engineering cover and what does an engineering apprentice learn and do?
- Meet apprentices, find out about their journey and aims and ask them questions
- What could you do as an engineer in a large chemical company?

Notes/Guidance for teachers
This is intended as an inspirational event. Because of the limited number of places it is important that we get to those young people who would benefit most. It is aimed at young people in year 8 who may have expressed an interest in this type of career as they consider their GCSE choices. They may want to know more about the opportunities and also what they would need to learn. It is not intended for those who are clear that this is the career they want nor those who have expressed no interest.
