Guaranteed Interview Scheme
We guarantee to interview anyone with a disability whose application meets the minimum criteria for the post. By ‘minimum criteria’ we mean that you must provide us with evidence in your application which demonstrates that you generally meet the level of competence required as essential for the role as set out in the Skills and Knowledge section of the job description. We are committed to the employment and career development of disabled people.
What do we mean by disability?
The Equality Act 2010 defines a disabled person as someone who has a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and adverse long-term effect on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.
For the purposes of this scheme, these words have the following meanings:
- 'substantial' means more than minor or trivial;
- 'long-term' means that the effect of the impairment has lasted, or is likely to last, 12 months (there are special rules covering recurring or fluctuating conditions);
- 'normal day-to-day activities' include everyday things like eating, washing, walking and going shopping.
How do I apply?
If you want to apply under the Guaranteed Interview Scheme simply complete the declaration below.
We will try to provide access, equipment or other practical support to ensure that if you have a disability you can compete on equal terms with non-disabled people.
