  3. Rounds are limited by time. Stick to these time limits or we will not manage to finish the game.
  4. Projects should be related to the field of sustainable diets.
  5. Moderators and Game makers are always right.
  6. It is not allowed to make up affiliations or skills that are not actually your own.

Overview of Participants & Tasks

  1. Game makers: Lucas Rutting and Zowi Vermeire

Game makers will facilitate the game and are available to answer any questions considering the game. Additionally, they accumulate the DP and SP of the various teams awarded by the moderator and note them on a public score board.

  1. Moderators

Moderators will facilitate the battles between the various teams. They judge whether critique points, defenses and suggestions are worthy of achieving points and they keep track of the points each team achieves in each round and signal these scores to the game makers.

  1. Players (max. 36)

Players form groups on the basis of competent character sheets and will formulate a project pitch and battle against other teams.

Overview of Rounds

  1. Character sheets2 minutes

Fill in the character sheet according to your own fields of expertise. You do not take up a role in this game, you play yourself. You only have five points to divide among the KC and five points to divide among the BS.

  1. Group formation5 minutes

Find group members to form a group of a maximum of 6 people on the basis of the character sheets. Make sure to find people with distinct KC and BS as it will diminish the chance of being attacked on lacking KC and BS in the battle phase of the game.

  1. Project formulation 10 minutes
  2. Accumulate the points of your group members on one project sheet. If you have more than five points in a specific KC or BS that extra points will be lost. You cannot have more than five points per specific KC or BS.
  3. Come up with a project on the basis of your KC and/or BS that relates to the field of Sustainable Diets: it can be national, international, be creative.
  4. Think about the questions stated on the back of the project sheet.
  5. Come up with a pitch of max. 5 minutes to present your project.
  6. Battle phase

The battle phase consists of two rounds.

A round consists of the following phases:

  1. Pitch Team A 5 minutes
  2. Team B gains 2 minutes to discuss among themselves a maximum of three critique points on Team A’s project. After which they utter each critique point. The moderator collects these critique points and summarizes each in one sentence and says in one sentence whether the point is valid or invalid. If invalid critique points are raised, Team B obtains 1 DP per invalid critique point. If valid critique points are raised, Team A obtains 1 DP per valid critique point.
  3. Team A gains 2 minutes to defend themselves against the critique uttered by team B. If the defense is deemed to be sufficient by the moderator, they can diminish their DPs with 1 per valid defense.
  4. Team B can achieve points by providing suggestions for Team A. They again gain 2 minutes to discuss among themselves a maximum of three suggestions. For each suggestion that they afterwards utter to Team A and is considered a good suggestion by the moderator they achieve 1 SP.
  5. Now Team A and B switch roles and redo steps a-d.

After the first battle round the teams all get 5 minutes to incorporate suggestions in their project pitch. The second battle round is exactly the same as the above only Team A will play against Team C, and Team B against Team D and all DP and SP are doubled.
