What Did I Miss When I Was Out of Class?

On your first day back from missing class, use an index card to record what the calendar below says for YOUR class. Put your name and dates absent on the card also. You have one night to complete it if you missed one day of class. If you have questions about this chart, write down what it says for your class on the day or days you missed, and give it to Mrs. Doughty, along with your questions!

Jan 28 / You missed a pretest. You can be excused, but if you want the chance to practice it, come after school on an announced day.-
Ask me for a folder, and any missing pages. Add ten sheets of notebook paper to the back pocket.
Pg 1 – Yellow graphic organizer
Pg 2 – Daily objective journal
Pg 3 – ground rules – READ them / Turn in signed forms. Read Ground Rules carefully. Set up a time to skim the course pre-assessment. You will be excused from taking it, but it is to your advantage to read over it.
If you finished and saved your development slides on Tuesday, bring it back up and save it to my V drive. Tell me.

Roles, Goals and Priorities
Turn in signed letter and cell phone decision form. / Ask for a new 3 ring binder. Do not write on it, but insert labels when needed.
Ask for the development handout. You have permission to look at the notes of a classmate to catch up with the first 4 slides.
Outside of school, or on your phone at lunch, show me proof of watching video regarding play dough and fine motor skills

Friday
Jan 30 / Borrow an answer key to get started on the #ed items on the Role Maps assignment.
Read over the entire week on this calendar to be sure you did not miss something.
Use it to complete the Sam assignment. / Ask for a copy of the article about sensory plan. Write a summary of the main ideas with detailed example for each.

Complete the rest of the development worksheet, using some ideas from a student, but also confirming the details yourself. Write down the sources you used to finish it.
Monday
Feb 2 / Turn in signed welcome letter and cell phone decision form. Turn in role maps and SAM. Ask for a grade tracking sheet. Put your name on it and ask another student to let you update the info on it, using graded work. Store it in the front pocket of your notebook. It is required to be up to date and complete. Ask for a study guide about “Technology – Say What?” You may copy the definition from another student. Be sure to read part A on the ground rules! / Ask for a copy of the enduring understandings paper. You may copy the missing words from another student.
Ask for graded work and a grade tracking form. Put your name on the form and update it using another student’s help. This is a required assignment throughout the semester.
Create a typed spine label, and dividers. I will print dividers in color if you use a power point slide for each divider, with a design that uses a small amount of ink.

Feb 3 / Ask for and complete Technology at home, work, and in certain communities.
Get class notes from your neighbor for tech study guide. / No pd 3-
Pd 2 – We created dividers. Follow directions on Portfolio Template power point (on class wiki) to create them at home or after school. You can ask for a printout of examples.
Wednesday
Feb 4 / Study your definition of technology. Search online for the meaning of obsolete technology and state of the art technology. Record these definition on the back of your study guide, along with a couple of examples of each. Ask for your assigned laptop and clicker #s.
Read the laptop procedures taped on the back wall. / Ask for 3 temporary dividers and set your portfolio up by asking to see another student’s. All papers should be properly filed. You may also copy the items we covered on the site visit procedure page. Our site visits are test to show you are learning in the class. They are fun and very important to the children and to your grade. Our first trip is on February 11.
Thursday
Feb 5 / Ask for quiz. Search online for meaning of microfiber. Record definition on index card (with source.) Copy class notes from student to fill out more of the study guide. Ask for crossword. / Copy procedure notes from the handout from me. Turn it in.
Friday
Feb 6 / Go to class website, or the JMB V drive to use the power point, February 6 to complete your study guide about technology terms and examples. Ask for a crossword puzzle that matches it. If you do not have Internet access, request a copy of the slides to borrow. / Turn in procedure notes.
Ask a student to show you where the books are, and ask for an evaluation form. Use the form to evaluate the book, and give both to me. The books may NOT be removed from the classroom.
You missed a valuable day of training. This affects your site visit grade.
