WFBCHU August 20, 2014 Meeting Minutes

  • Pledge of Allegiance given
  • Minutes of July 16, 2014 were read and approved as corrected to read: Ladies ride RSVP date is August 23, 2014. Will add correction to July minutes.
  • Treasurer’s report was given by Julia as Shelly was excused. The treasure’s report was read and approved corrected to read in the expenses as Scott LeRoy was paid for camping weekend at Bluff.

OLD BUSINESS

  • Ladies Ride dates are September 5, 6 & 7 at North Fork Park. Registration forms are out there in emails and face book. Need head count by August 23rd. Katie Luke is unable to cook a meal as planned. Looking for other volunteers to help with meals.
  • Banquet Date has been changed. Due to date conflicts with Florentine Gardens, it has been moved to Saturday, November 15, 2014. The menu is the same with Grilled Salmon, Grilled rib-eye. And Veggie lasagna upon request. All choices are $24.00 per person. This includes tax and gratuity. Address of Florentine Gardens is 2621 Oak Hill Drive Layton. Will need a head count by Octobers meeting.
  • Work project for the Neponset Trail on July 19 was led by Richard Webb. This trail needed a lot of work, so a weed wacker was used to open a new part. Richard was responsible for several work projects for the month of July at Lightning Ridge and Sugar Pine. Alan Phister helped with work on the Ben Lomond.
  • Kathy Myer is still looking for some help with the newsletter. Please contact her directly if you wish to help.
  • Got several online quotes on pricing of our Chapter flag. Will check locally on pricing.
  • Amazing Raise update
  • Potential donators contacted. Dallas Green, Les Schwab in Clinton, Don’s meets, and TJ Trailers. Smith & Edwards donated $1,000. Still need to contact Big Bubba’s trailers, IFA and CAL Ranch. Remember cutoff date for pledges is September 17.
  • Ideas for the booth on Saturday September 6. Don will bring his horse, Spot. Alan is bringing our trailer. Set up is 2pm. Jan is working on getting gifts from retailers for our raffle. The CVOF address: PO Box 684, Eden, UT 84310 TAX ID 71-0995692. Online for any pledges.

NEW BUSINESS

  • Date for youth campout will be held Saturday, October 4, 2014. The Ogden Valley Pony Club will be joining us at Middle Fork. Same itinerary as last time- Camp Friday night with teaching that Friday Night. Saturday morning will be cleanup with ride to follow. Tammi Johnson and Hal Peck have volunteered their services again for the campout. It was suggested they wear orange as this is the beginning of the Elk hunting season. If you are interested in helping let Julia, Tammi or Hal know.
  • Alan bough steel week wacker for $400.00 and would like to get reimbursed for that and permission to purchase another one. Would also like to purchase a battery operated saw of some sort. These purchases are to come from the CVOF funds. Request was approved.
  • Cost of tune up of chain saws was requested from monies from the chapter funds as maintenance of tools used for work projects. It was approved to used chapter funds for this. Scott LeRoy will be reimbursed for the tune up of said saws.
  • Richard cautioned that the work project at Wheat Grass Aug. 23 is a pretty intense trail. If you wish to help, be sure you can handle the extreme trail situations.
  • Trying to get OK from Forest Service to work at Bluff Springs. May use CVOF funds for materials.

CALENDAR

  • Remember Don Bradshaw’s Thurday rides. Labor Day weekend is August 30-Sept 1, no rides are planned. Amazing Raise is Sept 6 along with the Ladies ride being Sept 5-7. The State Meeting is Sept 13 in Escalante. Will need to make own arrangements. Julie is planning a ride to Franklin Basin on Sept 19-21. Anyone is available to join. Public Lands day is Sept 27, so will be thinking of a work project for this day. Pony Club campout is October 4. Elberta to Eureka for lunch ride on October 11.
