Summary

This document is intended to help the users to install the GLS (General Ledger Software) application using the installer files downloaded from the web. This has step-by-step screenshots explaining the GLS installation process.

System Requirements

The GLS works on any of the operating system software mentioned below:

  • Microsoft Windows 98 SE
  • Microsoft Windows ME
  • Microsoft Windows 2000
  • Microsoft Windows XP
  • Microsoft Windows VISTA

Note: GLS is compatible only with the above listed Windows versions. It is NOT compatible with the MAC OS.

The GLS set-up will check for the following software in the user machine where it is getting installed. If not found, it will provide instructions to install each of them. Please accept the prompt to allow installing the software on your local machine.

  • Microsoft .NET framework 1.1(Example screenshotsavailable in step #6 below)
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0
  • Microsoft Data Access Component 2.8
  • Microsoft Jet 4.0

Instructions

1)Download the Zip file “JWS87_wap10e_Setup_072711” from the website.

2)Unzip the file to extract the content to the folder “JWS87_wap10e_FinalSetup” (See below)

3)Open the folder “JWS87_wap10e_FinalSetup” to see the content inside. Double click on the “SetUp.bat” file located in the root level to run the Installer setup. (See below)

4)Installation begins as shown below

5)As mentioned above, GLS Application requires Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 component. Installation asks for a prompt as shown below. Click on the button “Yes”.

6).NET framework gets installed (See below)

7)Installation continues as shown below.

8)Once .NET framework installation completed, a prompt will appear. Click “OK”. (See below)

9)The GLS application setup wizard appears as shown below. Click “Next” to proceed.

10)GLS installer requests for the installation folder. If there are changes needed, click on “Browse” to change the folder path. Else, click “Next” (See below).

11)Installer is ready to install the application. Click “Next”. (See below)

12)GLS application installation begins.(See below)

13)The system requirements and release notes appears. Click “Next” (See below)

14)Installation is completed. Click “Close”. (See below)

15)There are two new icons available in the desktop. One is the “Readme.txt” and the other one is a shortcut reading “Accounting Principles Application Folder” (See below).

16)Double click on the shortcut “Accounting Principles Application Folder” to open the folder. Locate the executable file “FINAC.exe” and double click to run (See below).

17)GLS application starts running and the splash screen appears (See below).

18)Application interface with the help file in open mode (See below).

19)Start using the GLS application.
