Westmoreland CC Culinary Intern Letter

We are glad you have expressed interest in becoming an intern for the 2011 season at Westmoreland Country Club. We are celebrating our Centennial year and our Gala dinner on July 16th is going to be an event to remember.

Westmoreland is located in Wilmette, Illinois on 125 acres of beautifully landscaped property. Eighteen hole championship golf course, six hard tru tennis courts, clubhouse, and a full aquatics program. Banquet, Ala cart, and poolside café kitchens round out the culinary side. The Grill, Bluestone Café, Monticello private Wine Cellar, and Windsor Room give this historic Country Club plenty of dinning selections.

Chef William is the Executive Chef at Westmoreland. His kitchen staff of 23 has plenty to do during the summer months. Club events, A la cart Dinning, Banquets, Weddings, and Golf outings keep us on the go all summer long. During your stay with us there will be plenty to learn with all the different culinary platforms we have. Our kitchen works with nothing but the best Meat, Poultry, Fish, Produce, & Cured meats. Again, you need to be willing to give a hundred and ten percent. Chef expects no less from anyone on his staff. Be ready to work hard and absorb all that you can during the sixteen weeks you are with us.

There is housing available for the interns and yes it is a paid internship.

Golf is available on Mondays if there is not a golf tournament scheduled.

Downtown Chicago is just twenty-five minutes away. Old Orchard shopping center is just minutes from the club. We do intern educational tours during the summer months. So besides working at a Platinum County Club you have all that a great city like Chicago has to offer. Great dinning, shopping, Major League Baseball teams, and a lake front the rivals no other.
