Dear Parents,

Welcome to Kindergarten! This year you have sent us your most valued possession - your child! We are truly excited to teach your child, and we look forward to all of the learning adventures we will have together. You are your child’s first teacher and thus an integral part of his/her education. As such, we believe in fostering a strong parent/teacher partnership.

We would like to begin our parent/teacher partnership by learning of the goals and expectations you have for your child. Enclosed you will find a questionnaire designed to tell us about your child. Your responses will help us gain insight into your child’s history, interests, and hopes, so that we may help your child feel at home in the classroom. Please have your child return this questionnaire on the first day of school.

Throughout the year we will communicate with you through notes, newsletters, telephones calls, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences. Please contact us with any questions, needs, or concerns as soon as they arise. We encourage you to contact us by sending us a note in your child’s take home folder, or you may call us at school at

1 Full size book bag to bring to and from school EVERYDAY (Labeled)
1 Composition Notebook
3 Two pocket folders with pockets & prongs-solid colors only
3 Large glue sticks or 9 small glue sticks
30 #2 Pencils
1 Fiskars scissors (blunt tip-please)
3 EXPO Dry erase (white board) markers
3 Large boxes of tissues
1 Large container of moist wipes (baby wipes or antibacterial wipes)
1 Box of gallon size zip lock bags
1 Box of sandwich zip lock bags
1 Complete change of uniform: in case of classroom accidents-labeled in a plastic bag

Please purchase the following to use at home, as your child will need them to complete homework assignments: Crayons, pencils, glue, and scissors.
