Location – We are meeting in Castle House, Taunton which is immediately opposite the Museum of Somerset

Parking – there are 3 car-parks at Tangier, one at The Crescent and Wood Street across the river.

Lunch – Please bring your own or there are cafes/sandwich shops in town

Refreshments – will be served on arrival only. There will be a comfort break mid- morning.

Please bring any leaflets for a literature swap

Please note that the Museum of Somerset, Taunton (opposite Castle house) is normally shut on Mondays. However there will be the opportunity to view Somerset Remembers at 3pm or to take a tour of Castle House. Details of how to book on either tour will be given on the day.

Follow the signs to the Museum of Somerset (marked on the map). Castle House is on the right of the courtyard opposite the Museum of Somerset.

By Car

From the north on the M5 leave at Junction 25, following the A358 then the A38 to Taunton Town Centre.

There are a variety of car parks in Taunton. Castle Green, Greenbrook Terrace and Coal Orchard Car parks are the closest. For more details please see

By Train

The Castle House, Taunton is a 20 minute walk from the railway station. Follow traffic signs to the town centre. Passing Debenhams walk along past the Cooperative Bank to Fat Face where there is turning right which takes you into the Castle area and the Museum of Somerset and Castle House is past the Castle Hotel on the right. Walk into the courtyard and the Castle House is on your right.
