Meeting Minutes
February 11, 2014
Call to Order
Booster President, Maureen Massey, welcomed everyone and meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm. Attendance for the meeting was 18 members with guest, Judy Bowns.
Secretary Report – Paula Witt
January meeting minutes were approved.
Paula Witt will post future minutes to website and notify members by email.
Thespian Report – Emily Tobin
· Work on One Acts continues.
· Students preparing for Little Shop auditions.
· Possible sibling activity for St. Patrick’s Day or Easter.
Director’s Report – Shannon Lynch
· Issue was raised at Theatre Director in-service meeting in January regarding director from another school approaching WHS about loan of costumes from The Producers for other school’s CAPPIE show. Request had been denied by Boosters. Discussion ensued about loans/purchase of set pieces and costumes. Judy Bowns offered explanations about CAPPIE process and the need for liberal policy on loans. Shannon Lynch raised concerns about Westfield’s reputation in the community.
All future requests should go through Theatre Director for approval.
· Auditions for Little Shop will be immediately after school on Monday, February 17th.
· Contingency Plan for Winter One-Act Festival if there is inclement weather was made. If no school Thursday 2/13, shows will be Friday and Saturday with Jared added to Friday and The Dance added to Saturday. If no school Friday 2/14, shows will be Saturday evening and Sunday matinee with Jared added to Saturday and the Dance added to Sunday. If no activities on Saturday, possible one-day festival on Saturday, March 8th or after Chicago trip.
President’s Report – Maureen Massey
· Jeanne Sanchez volunteered to oversee Soup Day for Little Shop on May 2nd as Deneen Buckley is unavailable.
Committee Reports
· On-line ticket sales will be stopped for Winter One-Act Festival in anticipation of inclement weather. Prepurchased tickets will be honored for rescheduled shows.
· Chicago trip has 2 available spots.
