When will the changes take effect?

Policies with an effective date of 1/1/2016 or later will automatically renew with Westfield Insurance Company.

As the agent, what do I need to do? All State Autoand Patrons agents are immediately authorized to write flood insurance with Westfield. Your State Auto or Patrons login to the FloodPro website will be automatically activated with Westfield Flood. We ask that you return the signed Brokerage Agreement to us as soon as possible. Policies will be automatically converted with no additional work needed.

What will my customers receive regarding this change?

Customers will receive a letter with their renewal offer explaining the change in carriers and reminding them that all flood insurance is regulated by the National Flood Insurance Program; therefore, there is no change in coverage or premium as a result of the conversion.

What will change on the policy?

Only the name of the insurance company at the top. All coverages, limits, etc., will remain exactly as currently listed on the policy.

What flood processing vendor does Westfield use?

Westfield Flood, State Auto and Patrons use the same flood processing vendor:

National Flood Services Processing Center (800) 637-3846

This processing center is the same company that was used for all State Auto policies. You can call this number for all policy assistance, billing and claims.

Does this give our agency access to other Westfield products?

By completing the Brokerage Agreement provided, you will have access to Westfield Flood and Westfield Specialty Brokerage, such as E&S business, etc. You will NOT have access to any “standard” products issued by Westfield Insurance

What are the added benefits of the conversion?

  1. Westfield has a flood team to help. At Westfield Flood, we supplement the customer service provided by National Flood Services. You can contact us with difficult service issues,for help with complex new business or to troubleshoot a problem. We believe this extra level of service will help you write more flood insurance and help you do an excellent job for your customers.

  1. Your commission will increase; Westfield pays an additional 2 percent on new business for a total of 17%. Renewals will remain at 15 percent.
  1. Free flood insurance training. We know that most agencies don’t write a lot of flood business, and there are frequent changes that can be very confusing. We offer free on-site CE, “Flood 101,”webinars or just a simple phone call with any members of your team who need help or are new to our business.
  1. Access to private products and excess flood insurance. All Westfield flood insurance agents may access specialty markets for these coverages. If the NFIP is the not the right fit for your customer, we may have options to help.
  1. You have our commitment. Westfield has been in the NFIP flood business for more than 15 years with roots dating back many years before that. We know flood insurance can be a difficult line of business, so we are investing in resources necessary to make the program the best it can be.
