Western Regional Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Advisory Council Job Description

Job Duties:

1.  Coordinates the day to day functions of the WRETAC.

2.  Coordinates the budget and financial affairs of the WRETC including;

A.  Monthly accounting and quarterly reports to the Board of Directors.

B.  Payment of bills, and invoices.

C.  Coordination between the treasurer, accountant, and bank.

D.  Ensure that the annual tax preparation and reporting has been completed to meet all deadlines.

3.  Oversees and assures appropriate record-keeping of all WRETAC business including secure storage and redundant backup of all records.

4.  Oversees the applications for and administration of all WRETAC grants.

5.  Coordinates and supports activities and meetings of the board, Manages/Coordinates the capture, distribution and storing of meeting minutes and other associated records in a timely manner.

6.  Represents the WRETAC at other community emergency service meetings.

7.  Provides technical assistance and coordination on requests from EMS Agencies, Facilities, and Governmental organizations within the region, generally related to Emergency Medical and Trauma services.

8.  Represents WRETAC at ALL SEMTAC, RETAC Forums with exceptions, if for some reason you cannot make a meeting, with approval by the chair. It will be your responsibility to find a board member to replace you at said meeting. Must participates in state-level Emergency Medical and Trauma committees and workgroups as directed by the board (overnight travel may be required for any of these meetings).

9.  Maintain statistics on WRETAC activities and submit reports; in writing and orally to the Board, noting trends and making recommendations for actions and improvements as appropriate.

10.  Meets personally with each WRETAC agency and facility every six months and talks by telephone with each of them every quarter. Meets with each of the BoCC within the region at least once annually. All meetings must be documented and a report given in writing to the board.

11.  Oversees, maintenance and updating of the WRETAC website;

12.  Develop, procure, deliver and monitor effectiveness of training programs, as directed and budgeted by the Board.

13.  Serve as the primary contact for the Board for constituent inquiries, communications, consumer input, complaints, request with CDPHE.

14.  Perform and coordinate community outreach including specialty requests for special events, and safety information dissemination. Participates in interagency activities including but not limited to mock incident trainings.

15.  Must follow the guidelines laid out in the contract with CDPHE and WRETAC (copy available) All deliverables required by CDPHE must be completed within the time frame listed in the contract.

16.  Other duties that may be assigned by the Board that are not listed above.

MINIMUM QUALIFACTIONS;

1. Has had or currently holds a certification in Emergency Medical Services, and/or a Nursing License.

2. Has obtained a post secondary degree.

3. Possess at least Five (5) years experience in emergency medical and trauma services that include EMS and Trauma system development.

Job Structure: Salaried, Exempt.

Salary: $45,000-$55,000 DOE.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS;

In addition to the aforementioned minimum qualifications, the following are preferred.

Experience in a allied healthcare field or similar medical field.

Experience in legislative, regulatory and policy development and implementation.

Experience in analysis and interpretation of EMTS rules and regulations governing the practice of Emergency Medical Services providers.

Work experience with EMS pre-hospital agencies or hospital programs.

Knowledge of the basic provisions and requirements of EMS Education; EMS Provider certification; and scope of practice of EMS Providers.

Must have exposure and management skills in the data collection process.

Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Products, and Quick Books.

Ability to plan and implement a major program.

Proven leadership abilities.

Ability to analyze problems, indentify relevant facts and determine appropriate actions.

Above average written and oral communications skills.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
