NEWSLETTER NO 1
GREETINGS to all Masters Squash Players throughout South Africa and Zimbabwe.
It is the time of the year again when thoughts turn to the 2015 Masters Inter-Provincial Tournament. Ours to the organisation and Yours to making it through the year injury free so you can join us here in Cape Town where we are hoping for a larger than usual entry.
DATES:
The Tournament dates are Saturday 5th to Tuesday 8th September2015.
VENUES:
Playing venues: The main venue and headquarters will be at the WPCC Sports Complex in Avenue de Mist, Rondebosch.
We are still in the process of finalising the court venues but we plan to have host clubs in the southern suburbs areas and Camps Bay. Dependent on the number of entries, it may be required to use some of our northern suburb clubs but we will only be sure of this at a later stage.
Social: The two main functions will be based at WPCC Sports Complex and Happy Hour/Music will run there each evening as well.
- Welcome function – Saturday 6 September at WPCC – Cocktail stand up
- Final function – Tuesday 8 September at WPCC – Seated dinner
- Golden Oldies get together still has to be organised. Varick van Broembsen will be charge of the Over 70’s section
- SA Masters Annual General Meeting - Monday 7 September.
ACCOMMODATION:
WPMS has arranged for team accommodation as follows:
- Tsogo Sun – Garden Court, Nelson Mandela Boulevard (formerly Eastern Boulevard)
- Twin Room for the weekend period – R800 per room double sharing, during the week R1060 per room double sharing. Breakfast included.
The full stay therefore for 5 nights Friday to Tuesday should be R2260 per person, double sharing.
- Note that the hotel is close to the playing venues and the Waterfront.

TOURNAMENT LEVY:This has not been decided as no sponsorship has as yet been confirmed.

TEAM DEPOSITS:
A deposit of R2000 per team entered is required and payable by 30 June 2015 to WP Masters Squash. The team entry must be accompanied by payment.
A team with invitational players will not be allowed entry without approval from SA Masters executive.

FINAL NAMES OF TEAM MEMBERS AND PAYMENTS:
The balance of payments and final list of all players in their respective teams must be submitted by 31 July 2015.
LADIES SECTION:
The women will play in sections according to strength and not based on age. Provincial voting has resulted in a decision to have 5 players per team as per the results of the recent referendum.
GOLDEN OLDIES:
The over 70's will be organised by Varick von Broembsen. Varick can be contacted on 082 458 9338 or .
Note that all entries for Golden Oldies will be done via the tournament Secretary, Glenda Erasmus, and the same tournament entry fee will apply to Golden Oldies.
WEBSITE:
A website is currently under construction will be updated regularly with news items. We will advise all provinces when it is fully operational.
An electronic brochure will be distributed to the provinces and placed on the website in due course.
