West Hills Golf Course – Equipment Technician Employment Opportunity

West Hill Golf Club, located in Fredericton New Brunswick, is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Equipment Technician. West Hills Golf Club is a recently developed 18 hole championship course opening in 2018, with new maintenance facility, fleet of golf carts and maintenance equipment.

The Equipment Technician (E.T.) at West Hills Golf Club is a pivotal role within the Maintenance Department Team. The E.T. is part of the department management team, reporting directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and working closely with the Assistant Superintendent. Together they plan, schedule and execute the maintenance on the golf course, providing the best playing conditions possible for the clients at West Hills.

The following are the expectations of the E.T. at West Hills:

  • Have a positive and friendly demeanor when dealing with staff, management and clients.
  • Preform regular maintenance for all golf course and residental property maintenance equipment as prescribed and recommended by supplier and manufacturer.
  • Provide best cutting conditions by sharpening and maintaining all reel and rotary blade equipment.
  • Preform regular maintenance on golf car rental fleet.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of the regular maintenance.
  • Diagnose and make repairs to hydraulic, electrical and mechanical aspects of golf course and residential property maintenance equipment as needed and or directed by Superintendent.
  • Assist in planning, preparing and executing cultural events and projects on the golf course.
  • Ensure and be responsible for a safe operating level for golf course and residential property maintenance equipment.
  • Assist in training, educating and mentoring staff in operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  • Maintain a neat, organized, and safe work space in the maintenance facility
  • Take part in operation of mowers, loaders, tractors and saws on the golf course when required by the Superintendent.
  • Take part in training to keep up to date with industry standards and future developments
  • Assist in budgeting, purchasing and inventory control of parts and equipment needs.
  • Make recommendations to staff and ownership on future purchases from a mechanical perspective.
