Club President Mr.Ray Kent

Chairman John Loveday

Secretary Tony Smart

Assistant Secretary Philip Singleterry

Treasurer Tony Smart

Ground / Pavilion / Groundsman

John Loveday agreed to again supervise the preparation of the wicket and grass cutting, but emphasised that he needed more help from club members, especially in the spring time and early part of the season and also on home match days?

After general discussion it was decided that a rota be drawn up with 2 players attending early on match days to help John.

Stuart Singleterry, Stephen Kent, Kevin Smyth and Neil Parkinson volunteered to help early season. All members not present would also be notified of the urgency for additional help.

To assist in early season preparation it was decided to hire a motor roller.

Teas – Both Carolyn Loveday and Diane Kent would not be available next season to make the teas for home matches. The club being most grateful for their past services in producing high quality refreshments for the players and visitors.

With a possible 10 home fixtures it was also decided to use a rota system, hopefully only two teas per person would be necessary throughout the season. Shane Singleterry and Jackie Smyth were possible volunteers – other players’ wives / girlfriends would also be approached for help.

Equipment / Kit

After general discussion it was decided to purchase another adult helmet, wicket keepers pads and match balls.

Fixtures - provisional fixtures for season 2006 were then presented to the meeting

with only 6 spare Sundays – it was suggested that the following clubs be approached

Hilton, Upwood, Sandringham and Stamford III.

Colts Cricket

Adrian Buxton attended the meeting with plans to set up a village colts team for players up to the age of 13 years of age.

Adrian was a qualified coach, also holding the necessary qualifications and clearance for training / supervising young players. An initial evening session had already been booked at the Littleport Leisure Centre.

Mid week fixtures would be sought from clubs in the Ely / Cambridge area - Hardwick, Littleport, Fordham, Soham, Ely, Little Downham.

A strip would be prepared for the Colts team and all other facilities, the nets / bowling machine etc. would be made available for their use.

Adrian would hopefully be getting assistance from other parents and there would be a need for supplying the new teams kit / equipment – precise requirements would be discussed in the new year.

Subscriptions / Match Fees / Fund Raising

With additional expenses likely to be incurred during the forthcoming season the need for additional income was agreed.

Proposed by Phil Singleterry and seconded by Stuart Singleterry that match fees be raised from £5 to £7 per match, still with no club subscription. Those in full time education to pay half at £3.50, and juniors free of charge.

John Loveday would obtain some fund raising cards from Florida Trophies and Stuart would sell the tickets, primarily at home matches.

Presentation Evening

Next seasons Presentation Evening was provisionally booked for Friday October 6th.

Any other Business – it was decided to register the clubs affiliation with the

Cambridgeshire Cricket Association.

Club Insurance – general discussion then took place concerning insurance for the players, third parties and property and agreed that subject to being accepted with the CCA that a policy be applied for through the County Cricket Association.
