Community Foot Care Clinic-Foot problems are very common in people with diabetes and can lead to serious complications. As we age it becomes increasingly harder to perform proper foot care on ourselves androutine appointments can prevent or properly manage foot care conditions. Service by a specialized RPN in the Salon of the West Huron Care Centre.New clients always accepted. No referral is necessary.

Dining for Seniors - Enjoy a hot meal with other 55+living independently in the community! The cost of the meal is $9 and is served at 12:30pm. Following the meal, enjoy a speaker, entertainment or activity. Please sign up bythe Monday, before the meal. Call 519-236-4373 ext 632 or reply to this email to register.

Summer Walking Group- Outdoor Walking Club will be heldtwotimesa week in Zurich. Join other 55+ agedpeople in our community for exercise and fellowship. This FREE Guided walking program includes warm up and stretches. Use of Urban Poles is encouraged but not mandatory (Must provide your own). The group willmeet at the Bluewater Area Family Health Team (everyone is welcome. You do not have to be a patient of the BFAHT).Please call/emailto register before the first time attending.
Starts Friday, June 1st.Runs Mondays & Fridays in June, July, August from 8-9am.

Cardiovascular Health Awareness Program (CHAP - Blood Pressure Clinic):The goal of CHAP is to promote cardiovascular health in the local community and to raise awareness about the importance of blood pressure monitoring. CHAP is a free service providing a reliable screen and follow up through a program based out of McMaster University. To learn more visit -chapprogram.ca.

Trained volunteers will help participants measure their blood pressure and complete a heart and stroke risk profile. A copy of these results will be given to the participant and, with their permission, sent to their family physician if they are participating in the program. The first visit requires on-site registration

The sessions run:

1st Friday of every month, at the Maplewood's Apartments (knock on the door to enter) - 10am to 12 noon

2nd Wednesday of every month at the West Huron Care Centre (With Dining for Seniors) - 11am to 12:30pm

Craving Change Workshop- "A How-To Workshop for Changing your Relationship with Food.".In partnership with the Grand Bend Community Health Centre.Will be held in the Risi Room, of the West Huron Care Centre, Zurich for 5 weeks.

Wii Bowling at the Maplewood’s Apartments

Join us for a game of Wii Bowling and social time! The Wii is different from other video games, as it involves muscular movements of the body and eye and hand co-ordination. No experience necessary. Call 519-236-4373 ext 632 to register before the first time attending

Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 10:15-11:15am at the Maplewood's Apartments, Common Room

Wednesdays and Fridays @ 9:30-10:30am at the Bluewater Area Family Health Team, Community Room

Each class is 60 minutes(seated and/or standing)with a warm up, cardio strength training, balance and stretching. We do a 5 minute Falls Prevention education component at the end of each class. The classes are offered for varying levels of abilities and I offer different levels of intensity. The classes are low impact (no jumping)and are suitable foreveryone.
