Remuneration / Up to £30,000 p.a. dependent on experience
Pension / To be agreed
Hours / 35 hours per week. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and undertake occasional overnight stays and evening and weekend work as required.
Leave / 25 days per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays
Contract type / Fixed term for 24 months

Overall purpose / To be responsible for the overall management and development of the Charity’s wellbeing initiatives.
To undertake the day to day management and leadership of all wellbeing activities, ensuring the delivery of defined outcomes within time and budgetary constraints.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership /
  1. To lead the Wardley wellbeing service offering on a day to day basis, monitor current services and support new initiatives.
  1. To be alert to strategic opportunities by staying abreast of developments within the pharmacy sector and by responding to changing contexts and needs among pharmacists and relevant stakeholder groups.
  1. To take a proactive role in initiating, building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and stakeholders in order to ensure that the wellbeing service meets need and is strategically positioned for future development.
  1. To use and establish appropriate and effective communication channels, both internally and externally, working within existing charity procedures and defined areas of responsibility.

Staff management / To line manage the Wellbeing Co-ordinator and counsellor ensuring they are effectively and regularly supervised and supported using Pharmacist Support documented procedures. Produce clear, task and target-driven work plans and monitor progress against them. Carry out annual appraisals and produce and update training and development plans.
Planning and service development /
  1. To lead the project on a day to day basis.
  1. To investigate potential offerings and develop future services.
  1. To be responsible for the overall management of the wellbeing offering and its related initiatives, including planning, risk management, development and implementation of a range of new outputs.
  1. To prepare, implement and review an overarching project plan which will provide a timetable of initiatives and events including deliverables and milestones.
  1. To ensure that pharmacists’ and pharmacy organisations’ views are included in the design, review and assessment of services.
  1. To take a hands-on approach, ensuring that services are of a high standard and meet need.

Supplier and contract management /
  1. To lead the project on a day to day basis.
  1. To initiate, agree and manage supplier relationships and contracts related to the project.
  1. To develop and implement procedures to monitor and review contracted services to ensure that they:-
  • meet the needs of pharmacists; and
  • are effective; and
  • deliver the agreed outcomes; and
  • provide good value for money.
  1. To liaise closely and actively with suppliers and identify, report and seek to resolve any issues in a timely fashion.

Risk management / To be responsible for the wellbeing risk register entries, ensuring they are accurately populated and regularly reviewed.
Reporting / To attend all relevant meetings and provide regular progress reports for the Chief Executive, Head of Operations, Senior Management Team, Trustee Working Groups and Trustee Board as required.
Marketing / To work with both the working group and the communications team to devise, plan and deliver appropriate marketing strategies.

  8. Ability to inspire and motivate others with a proven track record of identifying, initiating and managing a range of collaborative working relationships. E
  9. A good understanding of the pharmacy sector and awareness of wellbeing issues relevant to pharmacists. D
  10. A highly organised approach, including the ability to prioritise multiple demands and to delegate effectively. E
  11. Knowledge and experience of a range of communication channels. E

  13. A high level of IT literacy and proficiency. E
