Attention Confirmation Students: Confirmation will take place on Saturday, May 12 at the 4:15 pm Liturgy at Our Lady of Fatima Churchin Sydney River.You also need to have a sponsor or sponsors. It could be your God-Parents or someone who is special in your life. Remember one of your sponsors must be at least 16 years of age and a confirmed practicing Roman Catholic. Also would you please send me where and when you were baptized? Please email your information to me as soon as possible.

Youth Rally: There will be a Youth Rally for all Confirmation StudentsApril 14th at Our Lady of Fatima beginning at 11 am and ending with Mass at4:15 pm. It is important our Confirmation Class attend this Rally.

First Confessionfor our Grade 4 Class will be held on Saturday, May 5th at 10:30 at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish.

First Communionwill be held Sunday, May 6th at the 10 am Liturgy.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these Masses, Youth Rallies, and the celebration of Confirmation, First Communion and First Confession, pleasedon’t hesitateto contact me.

For the month of April, classes resume on April 8th. We have added 1(one) more class for First Communion, First Confession and Confirmation only. The date isApril 29th.

The Pre-school, grades primary, grade 1 and the 5,6,7,8 grades last class will be on April 22nd.

News from Membertou: If there is a community member’s funeral held on a Saturday, there will be no Saturday evening Mass at St. Ann’s Church.

Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish is hosting weekend presentation and seminar on grief and bereavement on Friday April 20th from 7-9PM and Saturday April 21 10-12 and 1-3PM This presentation will comprise of 3 sessions you can participate in all 3 but each session stands on its own. “With Gratitude & Thanksgiving: Time with David Haas” The Archdiocese of Moncton is pleased to host David Haas, well known composer of contemporary liturgical music (including: You are Mine, Blest Are They, and We Have Been Told), in concert on Friday, June 1st, at 7pm, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Riverview (5 Fatima Drive, Riverview, NB). Admission: $20 (cash only). Doors open at 6:30pm. Please note: a collection will be taken up for Music Ministry Alive (MMA) Scholarship Fund for youth and adult music ministry formation.

The Knights of Columbus 1060 Sydney Council will be having their regular monthly meeting next Sunday April 15, 2018 at 7:30 pm at St. Theresa Parish Hall. This change is to allow members and family of deceased members of KOC to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Mary's Polish Parish April 8, 2018 at 4:00 pm at 21 Wesley St, Sydney. On Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 2pm in the Temple Sons of Israel, Whitney Avenue Sydney- author and son of two Holocaust survivors Allan Rosenfeld will speak to the annual Yom HaShoah – Holocaust Remembrance Service. Mr.Rosenfeld will talk about his book, Holocaust Lumber which chronicles his early years working in the family lumberyard. Music will be performed by Leon Dubinsky and the Boularderie Lakeview Choir, memorial candles will be lit by members of the Cape Breton Regional Police Service.Everyone welcome.
