Welcome to the Cortland YMCA Men’s Basketball League. Below is a timetable for registration and a list of the costs associated with participation in the league. Please fill out the registration form completely and make a copy of the rules for every player listed. Please remember that the core values of the YMCA are honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. We conduct all YMCA programs with these values in mind. The YMCA basketball league is a recreational league, any behavior not demonstrating these values will not be tolerated. Please conduct yourself appropriately. Registration Timetable:
ü Teams must submit registration form and payment no later than September 21, 2015. Masters League play begins Monday, September 28th, 2015 and playoffs end by Monday, December 21, 2015. OPEN League play begins Thursday October 1st and ends by Thursday December 31st. Each team is scheduled to play 10 league games plus playoffs. The number of playoff games depends on the number of teams entering the league. Final schedules will be available on Friday, September 25th, 2015. Approved, numbered jerseys must be worn by team members or the team will be dropped from the league.
ü Changes to the roster must be submitted no later than Monday, October 27, 2015. The roster is frozen at this point and no player will be allowed to play that is not listed on the final roster. Players must have played in a minimum of 50% of regular league games to be playoff eligible.
ü Playoffs will be determined depending upon league size and length of regular season schedule.
Fees Associated with the League:
ü Masters $270 Registration Fee
ü Open League $200 Registration Fee
ü Most teams obtain a corporate sponsor to offset the registration cost
o Please make checks payable to: Cortland YMCA
ü $20 Referee Fee
o Each team will pay a per game referee fee of $20. This fee is to be given to the head referee before play begins. Failure to pay will lead to team forfeit.
ü No team will be scheduled for games until the YMCA has received a roster and full registration fee
