Welcome to the Australian Dorper and White Dorper Association Inc
Dear Prospective Member
On behalf of the inaugural Board of the Australian Dorper and White Dorper Association (ADWDA), I welcome you to join our organisation and encourage you to participate in the Australian sheep industry through this Association to enhance your success and profitability with your sheep breeding program.
This Association will represent all facets of the sheep industry from producer through to processor, marketer, retailer and consumer, thus benefiting all those involved with the Dorper and White Dorper industry.
Any Dorper and White Dorper breeder who is currently a member of any other organisation and decides to become a member of the ADWDA will be permitted to retain their existing Prefix and Flock Number if they choose to do so. (Please refer to Form 2 of the application form)
A member will be allocated one Prefix and Flock Number that encompasses either Dorper or White Dorper or both.
If you decide to become members of the ADWDA and have not previously been members of any other organisation you will be allocated the Prefix of your choice (provided it has not been allocated to another Stud) and a Flock Number commenced at 6000 plus (eg 6001, 6002 etc.). This action is necessary to avoid any clash of Flock Numbers with members of the DSSA as Sheep Genetics (Lambplan) cannot facilitate studs with the same Flock Number (each animal recorded in the Lambplan system must have its own unique identifier).
Membership of Lambplan is optional; however, flock numbers must be allocated correctly from the beginning to accommodate any breeder who decides to become involved with Sheep Genetics.
Please take the opportunity to access our website to find out more about the Dorper/White Dorper breeds and the Australian Dorper and White Dorper Association.
Further information can be obtained from the ADWDA Secretary, Tessa Dawes, Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of SA Inc on (08) 8210 5215 or email
We look forward to hearing from you!
Kind Regards
Brendon Duncan
President
