Welcome to SMS for the 2017-2018 School Year

We are delighted to welcome you to what we feel will be another exciting and successful school year. Working together, we can make your child’s transition to seventh grade a positive experience. We look forward to getting to know you and your child.

Our grading policies, expectations for student work, and classroom rules will be sent home in a separate classroom letter on the firstday of school. Please review this information together when it is received.

Listed below are general items of interest for your seventh grader’s success. Further questions may be addressed on an individual basis.

Absences

All make up work is to be completed. Adequate time will be provided upon return.

Conferences

Please contact the school to schedule a conference (326-3601). The conference time will be between7:30 and 8:30 am or 2:30 pm.

Laptops

Every student will be issued a laptop for school use. Laptops are to be brought home nightly and brought back to school fully charged the next day. A $25.00 insurance fee and required paperwork will need to be completed before a laptop is issued.

Food, Drink, Gum

Clear water bottles are permitted with only water in them in class. They will need to be kept off of the desk. No Food, Gum, or Other Drinks will be permitted in the classrooms during instruction.
