On behalf of the staff of our Society and the entire membership; I would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to Lady and Harold "Cope" Copenhaver for their dedication assistance and cooperation during the past six years. They have always been a great help and were happy and willing to give their free time to keep our society informed and moving forward. They will remain members of our society, however are starting to enjoy a well deserved retirement.

WELCOME to Iris and Dick Thurston as our new staff members. I know they will continue the good standards and look forward to being able to serve.

Marybelle Nisseley: Doing fine, still teaching in Little Rock, AR at Arkansas State University. Marybelle plans to attend our reunion in San Antonio.

Louise & James McMillen: Retired from USAF Aug 67 and on 1 Jul 87,he retired a second time from the California Public School System. Thanks to William Blakewell, Jim heard of our society and is now a full-time member. Welcome aboard, Louise and Jim and CONGRATULATIONS on your second retirement. They too, plan on being at the San Antonio Reunion.

Wilda & Presley B. Wood: Living in Colo Spgs, CO and keeping busy with his hobby, clocks. Enjoying their grandchildren and attending clock conventions. Both are in good health.

Katharine & Art Wiggins: Art is still writing music for the Colo Spgs Symphony Orchestra and playing combo jobs in the area. At this writing, they are up in Glacier Bay, Alaska enjoying a week’s vacation in their motor home.

Ruth & Carl Costenbader: Costies have moved into their new home; self-designed and self-built by Costy. It is called Costys Cove. Both are doing fine and looking forward to the reunion.

Mary & Jack Tardy: Jack has laid aside his trumpet and is now assistant conductor with the Colo Spgs Symphony Orchestra.

Lorna & Hank Uhland: Getting ready for another trip to Europe. Unable to attend our affair at San Antonio but will keep in touch.

Maxine & Curt Parsons: Reports that in 1986 they cruised the inland passage to Alaska on the "Royal Princess" - a beautiful ship. The scenery was spectacular with a full day cruising Glacier Bay and stops at Juneau, Ketchikan and Vancouver.

Ed Dougherty: Busy building Grandfather Clocks for his families. Enjoying life in Florida.

Bettie & Don Kraft: Both doing fine and enjoying their retirement in San Antonio. Don played with a number of combos in the area and was President of the Musicians Union.

Pat & Freddie Fredric: Both looking good and Freddie will be at the reunion. He is doing great after his knee operation. For the past 25 years of suffering with asteo-arthritic pain in his left knee, he has been completely relieved of the pain since the operation. As he said, "The Good Lord, the Surgeon and I were on the same side."

Myrtle & Vic Keehner: Both doing fine; Vic is still keeping busy with electronics and computers.

Lady & Harold Copenhaver: Their first retired trip took them to Colo Spgs, Estes Park, Jackson Hole WY, Yellowstone, Cody, WY; a 3½ week trip and very much enjoyed.

Betty & Ross Whitehead: On the road in their motor home. Last word - in Niagara Falls and on their way to Canada, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin. Having a ball and finding all so interesting. Fine trip, so far, will be home in Florida about October 87.

Lynette & J. Loren Johnson: Our latest USAF Retirees to come aboard - Jul 87. Enjoyed a 16 day tour of Europe with a British - based company, it was a great experience and reminded Jim how much he wanted to spend at least one tour with the USAFE Band. He spent the last two weeks painting the outside of their house. Lynette is still teaching English at Omaha's Central High School. Jim busy playing dance jobs three or four nights a week. Welcome to our family, Lynette and Jim, keep up the good work.
