Here at Quail Hollow, I would like to welcome you to my math classes. I would like to share some information about this course with you. This is a semester long course. In this course, students begin preparing for the 7th grade EOG Test that they must take and pass to get to the eighth grade.

With all of us working together; parents, students, and teachers, each child at Quail Hollow Middle will become proficient in Math.

Rules

Classroom Rules:

  1. Respect Everyone
  2. Follow directions the first time they are given.
  3. Be in your seat, ready to learn, when the bell rings.
  4. Save socializing for after class.
  5. No eating or drinking in the classroom.
  6. No electronic devices (CD’s, CD Players, MP3, iPods, Cell phones, pagers) may be out during the class period.

Respect Rules:

  1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.
  2. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
  3. Stop, look, and listen while someone else is speaking.

Negative Consequences:

Materials Needed

Students need to be prepared for school on a daily basis. The items they will need each day include:

  • 3-Ring Binder
  • Notebook paper
  • Pencil or other writing utensil
  • agenda

Late Work & Make Up Policy

Class work:

  • If absent for 1 day, the student is responsible for turning in completed make-up work 1 day after their return
  • If absent for more than 1 day, the student has 1 week from the date of return to turn in make-up work for full credit

Tests and Quizzes:

  • If absent the day of a test/quiz, the student will take the test/quiz on the day they return
  • If absent the day before a test/quiz, the student will complete the review activity upon their return and make up the test/quiz the next time the class meets
  • If absent for more than 1 day before a test/quiz, the student has 1 week to make up all work and will take the test/quiz 1 week from date of return

Late Work:

  • ANY late work will be accepted with 20% subtracted from the final grade for that assignment
  • In-class assignments will not be accepted late if the student is present unless approved by the teacher
