An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. ~Proverbs 31:10-12

“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” Hebrews12:2
Ë
“Scripture reveals that faith is an absolute necessity in the life that pleases God. If we are faithless, we are not fulfilling our calling to please Him. We must believe that God lives…A key to steadfast faith is to begin walking with God and practicing a faith that can’t be “greatly moved” (Ps. 62:2). Our entire lives are lent to change. But who He is will never change…In the midst of a society where the only thing you can count on is that you can’t count on anything, God is your guarantee. His faithfulness flows from who He is…to please Him, our faithfulness must do the same.”

“Living beyond Yourself”
The Coach's Daughter
By Tara Rollins
A daughter's perspective of her father
Fellowship of Christian Athletes -
When asked, “What has it been like to be a coach’s kid?” I must say that I have been truly blessed. This past May, I began my own family. My heart’s desire is that my husband and I build a firm, Godly foundation as my parents have for my family.
Growing up, I didn’t always realize how blessed I was to be a coach’s kid. It is quite different for a girl to be the football coach’s kid than it is for a boy. After all, the players are scared of you! Having the most Godly and loving man as my father, however, only made me proud.
From the earliest experiences I can remember, my dad always treated his players as if they were his own children. He was a father figure to more people than one could count. The epitome of the word “coach” is summed up in my dad.
That term, however, could be defined in many ways. He not only has led his players on the football field, he has helped guide them through ALL walks of life. He has come across many children who live in broken homes. He and my mom have helped raise kids everywhere we lived. Our house always has been available. They are teacher/coach by day, counselor by night.
As with anything these days, the sport can be quite political. I have seen my dad hurt from the things people have tried to pull behind his back. With the power of God always holding him tightly, however, our family has survived a few struggles in that respect.
The life of coaching is not known for the money or even its glamour, but it takes a truly special individual to have the heart to make such an impact on young people. What an impact he has made!
He could not have done this without the power of the Holy Spirit. My dad has held one thing constant in his life in which everything else revolves around – his relationship with Jesus. Without this, our whole family’s life would have been different.
Yet, he has kept the faith, and God’s love pours out of this man I call “Dad.”
He is a representative in the flesh of my heavenly Father. For that I am grateful. With extraordinary Christian parents, my family is filled with the love of God.
I honestly don’t know what I would do without the sport of football now. I was on the dance team that performed at football games. I was a Tigerette at Auburn where I recruited for the football team. Now, I cheer in the stands at the games. On May 25th I married a coach! Football in my life will never end.
Each move my family has made has been difficult for me. When we moved to Troy, I cried. When we moved from Troy, I was devastated. Then, we moved from Birmingham to Pensacola and one part of me thought “yea, the beach,” while the other part ached knowing my relationship with the best friend in the world would probably grow more distant.
Each place, however, has helped mold me into who I am. I was blessed more and more with each move we made. Friends have multiplied! Most importantly, God knew exactly what He was doing each time.
This final move will be held dearest to my heart. For this is the one in which I met the man God created to be my husband and new best friend!
I must admit, I never prayed for a coach. I know the impact my dad had on others, however, and I know the impact Kevin can make as well. I have had three truly amazing men (Dad, my brothers, Chet and Brett) to create the standards for my husband and this one has definitely passed the test! Trust me…that is huge! Godly men whom I love dearly surround me.
My father has taken the sport of football and turned it into a ministry in itself. There have been many lives touched and by the grace of God this will continue. I thank you, Jesus, for sending my father to be such an example of your love.
