Welcome this evening to the final of the Reporter Cup final between GSA and Guru Nanak. Congratulations to both sides for reaching, this, our premier cup competition.

The league would like to extend its gratitude to the officials of Gravesend and Northfleet F.C. for the use of the ground and facilities this evening.

At the end of the match the cup will be presented to the winning captain by the representative of the Kentish Times newspapers.

The Reporter Cup

The Reporter Cup is the North Kent Sunday Leagues major competition, in which all member clubs take part. The cup was introduced in 1981 replacing the Opthalmic Cup, which itself had been competed for since 1964. The first final was between Discott and Sun played at the AEI, and resulted in a 2-1 win for the latter, the first of a record nine wins. Only three clubs outside the Senior Division have won this competition, namely Guru Nanak, Milton Ale Rangers and Northfleet Scotts (now Beausports).
