WELCOME

Students

Welcome! I am very much looking forward to getting to know each of you and working with you. I expect only that you bring an open mind, a willingness to listen to the ideas of your classmates (and me!!), and a readiness to take on whatever challenges we face with dignity and tenacity.

Parents

It is important to me that we work together to ensure your student’s success. I believe that this can be achieved most readily through a positive environment with open communication, interesting and well-rounded lessons while your student is with me, and a reinforcement of effective study habits at home. We will specifically address different styles of learning and ways that your student can modify them to make studying an effective internalization tool, rather than a rote memorization process. I want them to learn how what we do here can be connected to their own life and the world around them. Or at least how to survive and do well in school more readily.

Classroom Rules

My rules are simple so as to be easily remembered. 1 - There will be no drama in my classroom. This includes yelling, fighting, talking when others are talking, disrespecting other persons or property either physically or verbally, and any other negative behavior that impedes the learning of any other person. 2 – Take homework and in-class assignments seriously. I will not assign busy work. If there is an assignment, it has a purpose. If I have not made the purpose clear, ask me. 3 – Give help freely when you are able. If you see your classmate struggling, help them if you are able to do so. And offer that help without derogatory comments or attitude. Sometimes they will know how to do something you need help with, and you will need them. (This does not mean copying answers or doing work for them!)

All incidents involving classroom discipline (behavioral and academic) will be dealt with immediately by me. Pursuant to that, they will be dealt with according to the policies set forth by the school district.

All late assignments will receive a 10% flat deduction; however, late assignments will still be accepted. It is better to turn something in late than not at all. It is best just to get assignments in on time.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any point during the year. I can be reached by e-mail from around 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily at .
